Gold price on Ebay. Can you explain?

Hi there,

I hear in shows like "Radio Patriot News" and similar that the gold price is going to the roof and stuff but at the same time I see offers in ebay like half an ounce for $575.

Can somebody explain? Is it because is an auction? I think not. I'm not very experienced in ebay.

The current price of Gold is $706 and it has been dropping recently for a variety of reasons including the temporary strengthening of the dollar applying downward pressure on gold, de-leveraging of financial institutions in US treasuries, and recapitalization of hedge funds and foreign banks selling gold reserves.

But this will be temporary and it is only a matter of time before hyperinflation sets in and the price of gold rises.

But right now I'm not sure why someone would pay $575 for half an ounce. Maybe I'm missing something.

Physical Gold you can hold in your hand is worth a lot more than gold in a market.

ETF Gold is oversold 5:1. You 'own' a piece of paper that says you own Gold, but you can't take delivery.

Also, this just started happening to Treasury Bills. $2.5 Trillion worth of treasury bills never got delivered this month.

The gold spot price is rigged. It is being kept artifically low to discourage people from investing in gold as a safe haven.

The reason why the price on Ebay is so high is simple. Attempts to stifle the spot price are failing and it's becoming very difficult to buy gold coins and small bullion. The dealers are sold out. Here in the UK, it's pretty much impossible to buy small quantities of bullion or coins too.

So what is happening is a 'black market' price for gold is beginning to decouple from the official spot price.

It's the free market in action.

It's why attempts to control gold prices wont work.

Before we all go out and buy gold bullion to put under our mattresses, it's should be pointed out that the central banks and the illuminati banking families can still go for a scorched earth policy and flood the market with gold, and they own A LOT of gold. They can flood the market with gold and then just buy it all back again at a reduced price. They'll lose money, but they own pretty much everything anyway.

They don't want anyone having a safe haven from their preplanned economic collapse. They want to reduce everyone to serfdom. They are doing a pretty good job so far

The price on Ebay does seem a little high, but as someone else said, if you can take delivery then that might be acceptable. Ebay is about making money. If someone can sell it at that price, good for them. On Ebay, you can set your own price, buyers will either bid a lot, bid a little, or not bid at all. The seller is probably just testing the waters. If he sells quickly, expect him to raise his minimum bid on the next auction. If he doesn't sell it, expect him to relist the item at a lower minumum bid price. Market dynamics will set the price.

$1500-$1700 per 100 oz bar right now.

I wish I could get 50+ bars DELIVERED right now from a company such as Apmex or NWTMint as you could make a fricking killing right now on eBay.

$1000 into $1500-1700 in a week is a nice return...

First of all, I would not have a sign in my front yard "Get gold here". "Free Guns". In the even of a "call" for gold/silver it would be very difficult to find it. After all... gold ownership is not "registered" so what you happen to have purchased, for cash, is not even known anyhow.

Same with guns. They are not "licensed". You can buy and sell guns all day long privately and where they go is not recorded. They could simply be stored as well.

With the most powerful military in the world we have basically been unable to take effective control of Iraq and the Afgans. Do you REALLY BELIEVE that spoiled Americans with a sense of entitlement would just roll over and give up that easy?

Remember how much of a reaction in areas has come from a verdict in a court case or other simple events... entire portions of cities can go from well managed to total chaos in hours. If there ever is a true popular uprising in this country there is not a damn thing the govt can do about it no matter how much they want.

The day they start to take away the last remaining things that Americans feel they are entitled to (those that believe absolutely in the 2nd amendment and private ownership of their property) you will see people go over the top.

I hope that it does not come to it but I promise you when it comes down to keeping the last remaining rights and freedoms I have vs being completely robbed by my govt and left to be a slave then there are no choices left.

I agree with you mostly, but in my individual life, I don't think I'd get into a shootout with the state. not saying it is going to happen, or logistically could happen, just my thoughts on a hypothetical. I feel that I could do more to further freedoms and liberty unarmed, than a martyr six feet under. again, not saying martyr's are beneficial or not, just that it wouldn't be my choice.

Is the live.com promotion still going on? They were giving 25-30% cashback on certain items purchased through ebay. This included up to $200 on gold and silver. So a week or two ago I bought a roll of ASE's for almost $400, but with the cashback deal I ended up paying $13-something per ASE. That was still $3 over spot but well worth it since there is no place I could get ASEs for that price.

In most states purchasing gold and or silver bullion is a private affair, IE there is no record of who purchased what when cash is used.

Most coin shops in my local area will not accept anything but cash in any transaction involving Gold, Silver or any other precious metal.

That and with a tax advantage of every transaction over 1000.00 being sales tax free.

Don't get me wrong, I am ALL FOR doing things in a peaceful way. All that I really ask for is to be left alone. Don't make me a pawn for your social agenda (by you I mean *THEM*), Don't make me a slave and rob me of my efforts, don't steal my property. Left alone, I am nobody's enemy. Try to steal from me or harm me and I will go down fighting.

A "shootout with the State" is very unlikely. Even in the worst of times under an oppressive govt if you keep a low profile you most likely will not be messed with unless you call attention to yourself.

I kind of get entertainment from folks that really believe that martial law is coming tomorrow and that the stormtroopers are going to be in their house. If our govt ever tried any crap like that there would be more people to act out then you might believe. They will need to use these people for securing assets (IE; banks, malls, businesses, etc) not out conducting random searches of houses.

We are HUGE country of MANY people. Our population in modern times has not been placed under State control to the degree some are talking. There are still plenty people people my age and older that were taught the Constitution in school.. that were taught that that "liberty" was a "right" in this country. These people still believe in this concept and the govt stepping over the line will be all that is necessary to some folks to put them over the top.

Turning the military in upon our citizens would result in citizens paying nothing to government anymore. Our military members still work for paychecks... many joined for college benefits... many joined to support THEIR NEW FAMILIES. These concerns and goals are not just "erased" because the actions of those in the government that have/are basically running a coup.

This is all I was saying..... I guess my entire point is that it will be unlikely to see door to door searches. If it ever gets THAT BAD then there are going to be a LOT of unhappy pissed off people that will form into groups and start fighting back. Once the "passive" ways of our people are gone they will have something on their hands to handle that has never before been seen in this country in any of our lifetimes.

I am more concerned about the bands of "rouge youth" that will form into mobile gangs RAIDING homes for food/supplies/etc then the govt itself.
