Gold price on Ebay. Can you explain?

I buy all my bullion off Ebay and you can do way better than that.

I bought 1/10 Gold Eagles for $100 including shipping yesterday (that is $1000/oz) and I think that if I would have searched enough I could have done even better. You can probably get around $800/$850 oz if you buy 90% gold coins (that is with the 90% factored in).

You can win junk silver auctions for around $14/oz.

Rounds and Bars around $16-$18.

Silver Eagles $20-$22. $375 for roll of 20.

sounds very accurate, anybody done better? please share!

I don't think that is the plan, as I believe when the TSHTF the government will confiscate all the gold. Won't matter what kind it is, they will take it and under no pretenses this time either. I believe your best bet for your frns at this time is in survival, ie, food, water, seeds etc.

When the government tries to take wedding rings, that is would be the day everyone joins a revolt.

Can anyone here answer this question: Hypothetically, what type of outcome can we expect if RP supporters try for a generation to collect as much gold and silver in a concerted effort?

try www.gata.org

these guys have been arguing for years that the gold trade is rigged and they have proof.
also www.financialsense.com is one of the best financial sites on the net.

Get some PM if you can find it.

Then I need me some big ass wedding rings! You hadn't heard that I was divorced 37 times? Yes, I keep them for old times sake. No bullion here, though, officer.

Hi there,

I hear in shows like "Radio Patriot News" and similar that the gold price is going to the roof and stuff but at the same time I see offers in ebay like half an ounce for $575.

Can somebody explain? Is it because is an auction? I think not. I'm not very experienced in ebay.

Uhm half an ounce for 575 IS "through the roof". That's $1150 an ounce, way above index. I don't see how what you're seeing on eBay would be a contradiction of that statement, but if you look at what the official gold and silver indexes are doing then it would appear to contradict the "through the roof" statement since those have been steadily going down.

The reason the eBay prices of bullion gold and silver are so high is almost noone can get the stuff right now. There is a shortage and so people who want to buy and take physical possession are paying a big markup.

The "index" pricing reflects paper trades and manipulation by banks like Goldman Sachs who have been artifically driving gold prices down for years to hide inflation.

Of course, the index is irrelevant. If you hold gold and silver right now, you can sell it for a very good price. Even local dealers that I've talked to are paying very high prices for coins right now, far above spot.

By the way, I work for eBay so if you have questions about bidding or using the site, or about an auction format feel free to send me a PM.

I just scored 77 silver quarters for a bit less than $150 inc shipping costs off of http://Bonanzle.com (an ebay competitor).
Thats a bit over spot, but I'll take all the silver I can afford to buy right now.

From http://Coinflation.com (Great site when shopping for junk silver):

There are 13.9253 troy ounces of silver in 77 silver Washington quarter(s).
Each Washington quarter contains 0.1808 troy ounces of silver and is valued at $1.65 when silver is at $9.15 / oz.

My cost $1.94 each
Current eBay prices: $101.37 per roll (40) or $2.54 each (plus shipping)

My advice is if you can get any silver coins for less than 10 times face, buy them up. It's the cheapest way to hoard silver and easily transferable at 10x face or more to anyone who has a clue.

"Over your dead body? That's it?" (cop/marine/g-man proceeds to shoot you and take your gold). "he was non-compliant everybody. move along. nothing to see here."

sure, you might take a few down with you, but then you'll be vilified for shooting a cop/marine etc. "see, see! he was a closet turrurist, just waiting to kill americans!"

I've often posed this question before, and expecially to myself, would i kill or die for my right to own gold? would i leave my wife and child without a husband and father? not likely. at least not right now and not by myself. i can't make that sacrifice; not with my family. i would pursue every last remedy before i got into a gun fight with a exponentially better equipped stormtropper.

i think if we all bagged a few traitors like this, it might not be so easy for them.;)

Who do you really think is going to give up their gold or silver? If this was announced it would be over my dead body that it would be taken from me.

This is also a good reason to hold a portion of it OUT OF COUNTRY using a service such as GoldMoney where you actually own your physical metal but pay a small fee to store it in a vault. If you do work with GoldMoney I would suggest holding your metals in the Zurich vault and not London.

Gold, Silver or Gun Confiscation in the U.S. will not go over well nor will most people willingly go along with it.

People that are smart enough to invest into these items have a plan to keep it in the event of any "nonsense" being thrust upon them.

They already succeeded in confiscated gold once, in 1933, when restrictions were placed on "purchasing, holding, selling, or otherwise dealing with gold." These restrictions were in place for over ***41 YEARS***, having been removed on December 31, 1974.

http://www.fdic.gov/regulations/laws/rules/5000-200.html

They enforce these restrictions more at the distribution level than at the ownership level. In other words, they'll likely nail you for owning gold when you attempt to redeem it, not necessarily while it's in a hole in the back yard. Thus, it won't do you much good to own gold unless you can use it to buy necessities on the black market, which can be difficult.

Note that these 1933 restrictions were enacted when true conservatism had a greater influence on the nation... today the sheople will hand over their gold with far greater ease.

BTW, if you want to learn what happened to all that gold, check out Freedom to Fascism and Money Masters (on google movies atm.)

Go to a place in real life where you can buy gold. My father owns a store in the Atlanta America's Mart where he sells gold jewelry and diamonds in wholesale. Everyone sells at the price of how much gold is going.

... I am sorry I totally do not agree with this statement.
