I may be different then others, but I believe Glenn Beck did Ron Paul a service by including the 911 part. He allowed Ron Paul to dissociate with those people. That way if some idiot does something extreme, Ron Paul can now wash his hands of it.

I agree... I said it before, and I'll say it again: I believe that Glenn Beck wants to endorse Ron Paul, but needed to provide himself cover, so that's why he asked the 911 questions.

I agree. Finally an official statement on it. Many of us have had our dealings with truthers. Hopefully they'll get the hint and stop trying to associate the campaign with that movement.

Glen came off like a moron.

It was sort of like when they always seem to want to let some retarded guy ask candidates questions at campaign rallies. The candidate is stuck standing there for 5 minutes looking like a damn fool while they wait for a mumbling retard to finish talking.

Something I cannot explicitly describe to you leads me to believe there was something wrong with this interview. I got a less than good vibe from me, but I don't know exactly how to articulate that vibe. Maybe someone else can. I rated the interview as only fair.

Yes something is very wrong. Doctor Paul looks unwell. Poisoned perhaps.

I thought it was good for the good doctor to shut down the 911 truther connection.

I also thought the death threats stuff was unfair. Like the only threats he has
gotten have come from Ron Paul supporters. I wish Ron Paul would have
asked Glenn " that is very unfortunate, so your saying you have only been
threatened by my supporters, Don't you have a whole section of your web site
devoted to hate mail"

I thought Dr Paul stumbled when asked how he would pay for the federal government with no income taxes. There are legions of taxes he could have
ticked off which could pay the bills. He came across like he did not know how
the bills would get paid.

Overall, I thought it was a very fair interview, with plenty of time for
Dr Paul to get his points across.

Good, would have been spectacular if it wasnt for the "oh no my life was threatened" 9/11 stuff.

Why would Dr. Paul say that? Dr. Paul is a good man and would not attack someone who is being threatened by supporters of Dr. Paul.

Also I have a feeling there was a much higher than normal amount of violent toned hate mail coming from us.

I almost feel like I should mark "Terrible and Biased" because it was such a love fest. Beck threw nothing but softballs, and even on the war and the threatening supporter issues, he was very respectful in the way he phrased the issues, and did not descend into an argument, but rather let the good doctor's responses speak for themselves.

If you don't think this was a lovefest from Beck, you need to seriously re-examine your view of reality. My 74-yr-old mother-in-law, previously on the fence, was enthralled and totally won over.

I gave it a good. Minus was the disrespectful french kiss comment and the truther stuff.

I believe Glenn Beck wants to endorse Ron Paul, and used this interview as an opportunity to give himself political cover for what were perceived as Ron Paul's more radical elements.

Yes, and to give the doctor a chance to distance himself from two issues that could harm his candidacy; over-assertive supporters and conspiracy theories.

I'll admit to being both pccasionally over-assertive and a "conspiracy theorist", but I also realize the political value of this interview... PRICELESS!

Good. Spectacular would have been someone throwing softballs the whole time. I think it's spectacular considering people were saying Glenn was going to be O'Reilly etc. Glenn actually sort of apologized for the comments his guest(Horowitz) made by classifying the majority of Dr. Paul's supporters as 'normal'(at least that's what I got from it. I'll need to rewatch it on youtube I guess to see what he said again). I think a better answer could have been tacked on to the 9/11 question AFTER he distanced himself like he did. He should probably explain that 'truthers' probably like him because he is the only candidate wanting to limit the Federal Government to the point where there is no possibility of it committing these global conspiracies that are thought up by them. I think that would have been a stronger answer IMHO. I would LOVE to see Glenn do another interview with Penn Jillette and have Penn endorse Dr. Paul.

Disrespectful? I thought that was a really funny way to say he REALLY likes Ron Paul... and humorous statements are often the ones best remembered.

What is SPECTACULAR is the length of the interview.

Yes, Beck asked some hurtful questions to satisfy his critics, but Congressman Paul handled them well.

But this is the equivalent of millions of dollars of advertising.

It may have been a love fest, but Beck allowed Paul to get his answers in uninterrupted, something I appreciated. I LOVED the fact that Paul was able to distance himself from the "truther" movement. Wish there was more opportunity to discuss the War on Drugs, but alas.

For those who didn't like the question about the potential "Glenn Beck Killer," it served more than one purpose: Besides the obvious, it gave Paul a chance to distance himself from those who radicalize in his name. So, toss out the arguments people have been giving about radical racists or Nazis supporting Paul, he has his bases covered in the MSM.

overall fair and thoughtful, the waaa waaa poor me people hate me bit was irritating though, he could have discussed that off air with RP if it bothered him that much imo. Otherwise, cool beaners!

I voted 'fair'. One poster mentioned something along the lines of 'something just not sitting right' and I agree. But after thinking back over it I realize the problem is that I was hoping for a red meat speech to his supporters - the kind he gives to a crowd at a rally or after a debate. This of course would have been a terrible way to go, both in attracting new support and just wasting the opportunity. For the audience at hand and the purpose of the interview I think it went well. Sometimes it is a real challenge to remember how someone who doesn't spend his days on the forums and at Meetups views both Ron and the election - but it's pretty important to do so ;).
