The way I've witnessed a certain conservative site go all Reagan about Cruz, I have to wonder what the full story really is. It was too automatic, and the whole thing beginning to end was an orchestrated affair.

Unfortunately its likely that Cruz will be the VP. As long as Rand himself is at least as solid in 2016 as he is right now, I'd probably still vote for them, but I wouldn't like it.

On his show today he was discussing it and made it clear he thinks both Rand and Cruz are presidential material and would support either.

After his interview with Rand (1:14 of stream) Beck & Co. break down 2016 field (Rubio & Christie battle for Establishment vs Rand & Paul for Conservative/Tea Party)... Beck wasn't happy w/ Rand's comments during interview about "compromising" on Obamacare, so that definitely had something to do with his Cruz for President tweet.

I will say that Rand sounded a little soft (deflated) during interview... which was surprising.

Honestly, i think for the first time in a long time someone like Cruz might be too hawkish for the GOP base.

That would make the GOP base more libertarian than half of this forum. Somehow I doubt it.

I see nothing wrong with discussing it. I want to know what they're saying. I'm glad this was posted here, it increased the likelihood in my mind that Beck is a snake.

I've seen comments today on various articles about the filibuster pushing Cruz to run. I saw one that asked should there be a Rand/Cruz ticket and someone said no..Cruz/Paul. Frankly disheartening.

I agree. The Republicans in Congress and Republican voters were opposed to Obama's proposed humanitarian intervention in Syria, but they've always been in favor of bombing Iran, and I don't think that's going to change. That's why Rand has also had to sound extremely vague on that issue.

Clearly the establishment saw that the Rubio, and Christie ships had sunk. This fake filibuster was planned and even approved by both sides leadership to put wind in Cruz sails. Cruz very clearly is being put up to split the liberty and tea party vote from Rand. Sadly it seems that many here are buying it.
