Giuliani Imploding on Meet the Press - Now

I don't know, but will people be studying and writing about this forum in years to come?

Are we a part of history?

Everyone is part of history. Everyone makes a difference, and it's always bigger than they know.

Oh, I could so make a video where Ghoully is talking about security "professionals" and how "you don't want it."

The Ghoul seemed to spend most of that interview apologisisng for one or other indiscretion.

What a total tosspot. I can't believe the American people would be dumb enough to give this clown the presidency

The MSM may be attempting to immunize Rudy from information that is already in the public domain. I will believe that the Elite puppet masters are trying to narrow the field by dumping Rudy when he drops out of the race, until that happens I will not count him out.

My prediction is:
Rudy is a feign. He is there to draw fire and distract people - even the GOP knows a lisping, mincing, cross-dressing gun grabber like Rudy doesn't have much of a chance.
Huckabee is a partial feign.
The "Chosen one" will be Romney with Huckabee as running mate.

OH, Now I know why Rudy didn't know what Dr, Paul was talking about at the early debate when Rudy thought the RP reply was absurd about the Middle East response.

He was at one of his PAID speaking engagements!

Well I am sure there is a Reading Assignment we could recommend to Rudy Y/N? :D

Did anybody catch that little sly portion of the security question that Mr. Tim asked Rudy if he is president - something to the effect that would he (Rudy) provide secret service protection to his MISTRESS! (right around the +/- 42 minute mark)

Rudy is either way smarter that I give him credit for by not even blinking or he was sooo not prepared that he didn't even hear it - I know I wasn't

One for Tim R.

Yeah that was awesome, I was hoping the Ghoul would react to it.

Something I seemed to notice - that when Russert was about to drop a bomb shell or some major issue he was always looking down or away from Rudy and this was a clue of letting Rudy know to be prepared and/or he needed his protection.

Maybe it was just me?

In all correspondence to media we should be very polite and kind. Something like...

Dear sir,

Today I noticed you refused to include Ron Paul in your polls. Though some are angry over this, it clearly shows the complete fear the establishment has with Ron Paul's government shaking message. Also, it is perfectly natural that you as a journalist would ignore or attempt to downplay any support Ron Paul may have due to the danger it might cause to your personal family. As William Colby states, "The Central Intelligence Agency owns everyone of any significance in the major media." I as a Ron Paul supporter fully understand that you wouldn't do anything that might cause the CIA to harm your family.

I send my deepest condolences in you being 'controlled'.

Thank you,

Ron Paul supporter.

This is classic.

Giuliani is clearly very intelligent and he has great skill at putting any negative situation in a good light.

No doubt his court experience as a lawyer helped tremendously with that. I would go so far as to say, that I do not share the overall sentiment that he imploded.

I think the closer term would be that his image slipped somewhat.

I actually believe that SOME may come away with the impression that he is a rational intelligent man who did the best he could under the circumstances and is not a bad man.

However, for all his intelligence he lacks wisdom and this is where overall his image suffers, at least in my eyes.

His middle east regional planning aspirations will end up in total disaster if he were to become president. It will bleed the country dry financially and in the direct sense also. It will demoralise the troops, for it will dawn on them, that they are not protecting US from any threat but are simply engaged in oil related security duties in hostile foreign countries without an end in sight.

The thing that is clear is that Giuliani is very committed to waging the war in Iraq and he would only stop if military staff told him the mission is impossible (but military staff are unlikely to ever admit such a thing).

Additionally he has no problems with broad interference in the middle east by assisting with security against islamic terrorism, even though this type of assistance can be interpreted quite broadly and can result in generalised American meddling in internal affairs of middle eastern states.

It was telling he slipped and said (paraphrasing) that Qatar is going in the direction WE want them to go in.

It was also telling that he said he left commission due to him considering running for president.

This shows that he considers personal advancement as more important than getting to the bottom of a terrorist attack.

He did not deny speech money being a factor, so this also shows that personal enrichment is more important than a terrorist investigation.

While these motivations are understandable, you have to put them in context of what office he is trying to get to currently.

Imagine a president who might not hesitate to put a consolidation of personal power and riches above his duty to the people that elect him to get to the bottom of a terrorist attack should one occur.

Giuliani has extensive business connections throughout the country and middle east and accordingly carries a high risk of possible conflicts of interests between public and private interests eg. if a middle eastern client or someone closely connected to a client of one of his security/legal firms were to be a target of US intelligence scrutiny for real or alleged wrongdoings against US, would he influence the investigations in any way?

Certainly, every single Republican candidate can have potential conflicts of interest in office, but if you put them side by side, Giuliani is likely to be near or at the top in my opinion.

The central point here is that you have to view Giuliani in terms of his apparent priorities.

I would argue that his priorities are such that if he were to become president the national interests of US may not rise to be above his private interests and that is a very risky situation for a constitutional republic.

My final judgement on Giuliani:

The man has questionable personal motivations, judgements and priorities due to his character and business connections

In addition, the man does not accept the doctrine of non-interventionism and holds more or less the opposite view.

As a result there is more than an acceptable amount of risk if he is elected to be President.

He fails the public perception and philosophy test as far as I am concerned.

NEXT!

I saw that, this video should be a must watch for every voter. Rudy's response was somewhere between mumbling, being tongue tied and baffled answering questions about :

- his business deals with Qatar ministries with ties to same terrorists he wants to fight against and a regime that praised Hezbullah for victory over Israel

- Tax payer paid police services for his girl friend / mistress ( Russert used both terms at times) before 2001 when no one knew about their relationship

- His recommending his close friend and business partner for Homeland Security Chief position ( who has been indicted since) knowing about his crooked ways

Dems would destroy Rudy if he ever got the GOP nomination. Too many contradictions, this guy would lose.
