I'm going to be on the metro in two days (driving to Rockville, MD, and metro-ing the rest of the way....BTW, should I be stopping at the Federal Triangle? Is there a better station? Thanks!!)!!

I can't answer this myself, but I'll bump it up for an answer.

I posted this page because my cousin works in D.C. and has recommended the metro in the past. I don't know anything about it myself. I hope that I have a pleasant learning experience when I get there.

I do know that you can park in Maryland and end up very close to the Capitol.

The Metro is godly. So quick, so clean, so awesome.

My wife was reading that you should park in well lit areas and shouldn't fall asleep while riding. Common sense I know, but does this mean that the metro is unsafe? Your post sounds pretty positive :)

I am in DC right now and the metro is really good. It looks like a spaceport out of Star Wars. They are really clean and everything.

If you're going to use the Metro all weekend (highly recommended), they have weekend passes. Just don't lose the damn thing.

Well, common sense is always a must in a big city, but DC's metro is great. I wouldn't advise going on the Metro at 1 am necessarily, though it's never been a problem for me (at 6'5" I tend not to have problems in the city).

Okay, everybody, I just saw on the revolutionmarch.com site that the stop closest to the march is the Smithsonian stop (right after Federal Triangle, if you're riding in from the north)! Yay!!

Segway

Hey y'all! Based on this post I booked a segway tour for my son and I today. It was a blast! Only $65 for two hours. A bargain!

Easy to learn to ride and lots of fun zooming around the mall. Wish I owned one for the March
