while there are still suckers who will pay good money for them. nobody is trying to outlaw the muzzleloaders, pellet rifles, double barrels, bolt actions, 4wd's, dvds', etc. but they sure as hell ARE trying to outlaw ccw pistols and assault-type autorifles, so get yours, train/experiment/modify/equip them as needed, and THEN, if you still want the toys, get them and waste your time and money on them.

Night vision goggles are 3k plus, target designator and electronic sight are going to set you back another 1k, it IS dark half the time, so WHY have a fighting rifle that is useless half of the time, have to stumble around, show lights to travel, etc, hmm? Stupid move! The sound suppressor is another essential item, and with the $200 tax, it will cost you 1k, too. In states where such things are illegal, the $500 a year Class 3 license lets you trump state law and possess "dealer's samples", and ONE sale a year pays for the tax! :-)

anyone who can't figure it out on their own, ask on the right forums, etc, is someone who wouldn't dream of putting up a fight, so no, I am not going to hold their little hands.

you basically have the overview done.
it could be a real anarchist cookbook of sorts.

Yeah there is a class III ffl really near to me.. I will probsbly contact them soon

you can go to Fullauto.com and the NFA subforum of many forums, contact Small Arms Review magazine, the Shotgun News, etc, and get contact info for a Class 3 guy near you. There's thousands of them these days.

btw, full auto is a joke, don't waste your time or money on it. The Class 3 item you want is the suppressor.

That is precisely right.. Full auto sounds like a big waste of money and ammo..

You stand and fight with your assault weapon if you want. I'll shoot from the shadows with my bolt action or with my silent bow and arrows, and nobody will know where the shot came from.

sure you will. :-) take your bow and put it where the sun, you know? that crap went out when all there was in the way of guns was muzzleloaders. The bolt actions were used by the LOSERS of wW2, remember? 70 years ago and already obsolete. Just the way you post tells me that you are ignorant, dude. Just because I favor a silenced autoloader from ambush does NOT make me as stupid as you think other people are. The autoloader can be used to do anything that the bolt can, and can do many things that the bolt action cannot.. The bolt action offers NOTHING over an autoloader these days, nothing at all. So WHY put yourself at risk by taking 5x as long for a repeat shot. Just because you WANT nobody to be near you does NOT make it so, you know. :-) Especially at night, and it IS dark half of the time.

;) Well ... I dunno about that I have put up some pretty good fights as a young fella with various singles , doubles , bolt actons even a tomahawk & a machete , but yeah , I suppose it would be a bit easier with a magazine fed rifle ... How many CD's does the avg person own ( music , or money/savings ) ?? The yield on them now ( money) would likely be as good as burying it in a mason jar at your second or third point of re entry from your LRRP . Music cd's , not sure you could get much hocking them , maybe enough for a box of Ammo ?

twisted, why are you so hard on icymudpuppy?
There is a place for a good bolt action in high power, distance and accuracy. An AR would be hard pressed to match with accuracy and take down power. Longer barrel and no loss in power from the gas tube and ejection, and if you get good with a bolt action you can slam another one from the mag almost as fast as you can get a sight on the target again at over 100 yards.
But, I agree, for shorter ranges (<150 yrds) an AR or SKS (or any 7.62 or better for takedown) is probably better.
And for shorter ranges (<80 yrds) a semiauto 12 GA.
And even shorter rangs (<20 yards) a good .45 (quicker spin around).
The problem for any given situation is having the proper gear, sights/scopes/mags, etc...some are all around good/fair, but not better than the correct one. So if you have buddies, let them each be specialists at a particular one and good at all of them.

check stats avg kill to casualty ratio for rifleman using AR vs sniper using bolt action. i rest my case.
