The story on WSBTV local news facebook page had something like 22,000 likes within 2 days! Compared to other stories that averaged about 100 or so.

In general, Local news outlets keep track of opinion while the national mainstream media's role is to mold opinion, so it seems. I'm kind of surprised even Fox mentioned it.

Well that, and then usually when they're reported there's no extended discussion. Just about 30 seconds to a minute of info.

Typical reporting:

"Today in Georgia a woman used a gun to shoot someone breaking in to her house . . . . and now, here's your weekend weather with Bob the meteorologist".

But something like Sandy Hook happens and I swear to God they'll interview every politician and Brady-spokesman they can find for weeks on end.
