George Zimmerman Verdict: NOT GUILTY!

Law? I thought we were talking about facts?

Lawyering 101. If the law is not on your side argue facts. If the facts are not on your side argue law. If neither are on your side argue policy. It's funny during these debates where someone will say something stupid like "Trayvon was bigger than Zimmerman" when Zimmerman actually outweighed Trayvon by 30 to 40 lbs. Point that out and someone will say "But that still doesn't mean Zimmerman was guilty." even if I wasn't arguing guilt or innocence under the law. Niehter of these bozos are deserving of a Nobel peace prize. (Then again, neither are were Gore nor Obama).

What? Preserving the 2nd amendment isn't doing that?

Hyperbole. No matter how this verdict came out it wouldn't have a hill of beans to do with your 2nd amendment rights. The jury made a finding of fact based on the evidence that they believed George Zimmerman was truly in fear of his life. If the jury had decided otherwise that would not have changed the legal standard one iota.

If they had found him guilty, I would probably forget about renewing my permit to carry. Why should I if I get killed either way?

Unfortunately It is Obama making it about gun rights. Obama's statement on the verdict; We have to do something about "GUN violence". Why didn't he say all violence?

Thank you, squarepusher, for being a voice of reason on these boards and standing up for justice.
