Gary Johnson: ‘I Will Continue The Ron Paul Revolution’

I think Gary jumped to soon on this one, but it's good to know someone is willing to pick up the torch for Ron. If Ron is out(which i doubt it), my next selection would be Gary johnson...why?, cause i can't stand Romney or Obama.

Now that Ron Paul has effectively suspended his campaign, libertarian third party candidate Gary Johnson is making a play for his suporters.

“You can’t suspend liberty,” Johnson said in a statement. “The Ron Paul revolution must continue, whether he is actively campaigning or not. His message must be a part of the conversation leading to November. Millions of Americans, particularly young Americans, are energized by Congressman Paul’s challenge to the status quo, and I am confident that energy will only build in the weeks and months ahead. And as much as the business-as-usual political elite would like to do so, you can’t put a lid on the enthusiasm and commitment Ron Paul and his supporters bring to the process. Whether it is at the Republican Convention or at the polls in November, the revolution Ron Paul has ignited will be seen and heard in the months ahead. I will continue the Ron Paul Revolution.”

I don't like how Gary Johnson is attempting to co-opt RP supporters, and profit politically from this turn of events. Johnson should know that Ron Paul didn't entirely quit running.

No one but Paul. If I voted, I'd sit the election out if Paul was not on the ballot. And I'm sure that most of the country will find Johnson too monotone and boring to vote for.

Lol, GJ wouldn't know liberty if it smacked him in the face.

I was listening to Earnest Hancock the other day, and he's said that Gary is at least thinking about his positions from a philosophical POV, not just a demographic one. He's backed off his strong push for the "fair tax," for instance.

I haven't ruled GJ out yet, but it seems awfully weak to be a candidate for president that's basically an infant when it comes to understanding the jurisprudence of liberty when the election is only 6 months away. But I'll keep an eye on him - for growth or for red flags.

I simply cannot support Gary Johnson. He is inconsistent on foreign policy- http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2012/04/has-libertarian....
He is inconsistent on drug laws, economics, etc- http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2011/08/gary-johnson-do...
more foreign policy -http://www.humblelibertarian.com/2011/04/gary-johnson-on-foreign-policy-national.html
I was a little lazy on getting sources but do some googling you'll find more.
Also, he is pro abortion, and thats not cool, however even if he was pro life it would be very difficult for me to support him.

He's at least way better than 95% of political candidates. I'm afraid that the Ron Paul movement is too much of a cult of personality. Ron is working to get the ideas of liberty out there but if the people he's speaking to won't accept liberty under any other representative but him we're going to be in a lot of trouble. As much trouble as we were in before and the whole effort came about.

Until Gary Johnson figures out the financial frauds at the heart of the matter - and he has refused to do so when confronted with it directly, multiple times - he hasn't a prayer of getting my vote.

Good for Gary. He's not perfect, but I'll vote for him if Ron isn't the GOP nominee. The liberty movement is exactly that- a movement. Never ending. Like the War on Terror. The more votes Gary Johnson gets (the odds of him winning the Presidency are about as good as Ron winning the GOP nomination) the more clout we get heading in to 2016. Unlike Bob Barr, who wasn't even a utilitarian libertarian like Johnson, Gary seems to at least understand that he doesn't understand enough about principled libertarianism and is willing to make some effort to learn. I just don't see the point of nitpicking Gary's flaws when he has such little shot of winning. He's just an instrument. A message for us to send to the establishment.

Cult as in sticking to our principles? There is no shame in that. There is no reason we can not rally for the multitudes of new liberty candidates(and become them ourselves) yet one must not sway from the reason you are fighting. I do not get behind stickers, I get behind ideas.
