G. Edward Griffin: A World Without Cancer - The Story Of Vitamin B17

I'd be careful with QuackWatch, Zippy---while there are no doubt quacks out there, they seem over-eager to put a doctor who doesn't follow the status quo to a "T" into that precise category---I often times wonder who really runs the website.

Of course Zippyjuan conveniently overlooks the MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR profits that the medical industrial complex/drug companies/major cancer organizations make off of conventional chemo and radiation therapies, that RARELY EVER cure their patients.

Cancer is so deadly, that NEITHER Laetrile nor conventional chemo/radiation has a very good overall track record against it. However, the good thing about laetrile is it doesn't have the DEVASTATING side effects that conventional therapies have.

With chemo, the patient's hair will fall out and their teeth can become extremely brittle, causing them to break very easily. Laetrile doesn't have these terrible side effects.

"According to Griffin, the 1953 California Report continues to be the basis of most scientific or legal opposition to vitamin B-17 today. The report, written by Dr. Henry Garland and Dr. E. M. McDonald of the California Medical Association's Cancer Advisory Commission, claims there is no proof Laetrile is an effective control for cancer. (It should be noted that these two particular doctors were at the time also insisting there was no link between smoking and lung cancer.)

However, Griffin writes in World Without Cancer that Garland and McDonald actually falsified information from Laetrile experiments cited in the California Report. In fact, 10 years after the report was published, original documents surfaced that proved information had been falsified. Although the report was subsequently updated, additional problems – such as insufficient vitamin dosages used in the experiments – persisted, and the conclusions of the original California Report remained embedded in the literature and minds of many.

Additional studies conducted by well-known groups like the Sloane-Kettering Institute have proven the effectiveness of Laetrile, according to Griffin. However, those study results have not been publicized."

Cancer comes from dietary imbalances (aka processed factory foods),viruses in the body from diet loaded with dead animals, lack of exercise, and bad habits like smoking.

One pill won't fix cancer. B17 is a waste of time.

Vitamin C must be a waste of time too. Maybe all vitamins must be a waste of time since no "one pill" will fix anything.

It's truly amazing to me how many people show up in threads like this and make these kinds of uninformed, knee-jerk posts. Yes, you're right: one pill won't fix cancer. Fortunately G. Edward Griffin, Dr. Binzel, and most others who advocate B17 in the treatment of cancer do not make that claim. In fact, they say the opposite.

In World Without Cancer Griffin writes:
It is plain to see that there is much yet to be learned, and no one claims that vitamin B17 is the whole answer. In addition to hyperthermy and vitamins A, B, C, and E, it is probable that an important role is played by other enzymes, other vitamins, and even pH levels. Vitamin B17 seems to be the most vital and direct-acting of all these factors, but none of them can be ignored, for they are an interlocking part of the total natural mechanism.

That was 34 years ago. More recently, In Alive and Well, Dr. Philip Binzel explains:

[Researchers] did not proclaim Laetrile as a "miracle drug" or a "cancer cure" but merely described it as a concentrated form of nitrilosides, which was able to rapidly raise the nitriloside level and to re-establish the body's second line of defense against cancer.... these researchers stressed the point that cancer was a multiple-variable disease...

There can be a number of deficiencies within the cancer patient. This, they said, did not mean that all cancer patients had all of these deficiencies, but that any given cancer patient could have six, or eight or ten of these deficiencies. They found, for example, that zinc was the transportation mechanism for the nitrilosides. They found that you could give Laetrile until it came out of the ears of the patient, but, if that patient did not have a sufficient level of zinc, none of the Laetrile would get into the tissues of the body. They also found that nothing heals within the body without sufficient Vitamin C. They found that manganese, magnesium, selenium, Vitamin B, Vitamin A, etc., all played an important part in maintaining the body's defense mechanisms. The most important thing they stressed was that, unless you correct all of these deficiencies, you are not going to help that patient. Thus, they were talking about a total nutritional program. They were talking about a program that consisted of diet, vitamins, minerals, enzymes and Laetrile.

Good post, humanic. Well said! :)

NONE of the leading laetrile advocates like Krebs, Richardson, Binzel, Griffin etc.---have EVER claimed that B-17 is a "magic pill" that will cure everybody who's treated with it.

However, there ARE many documented cases of it working, especially when the cancer is caught early. And laetrile doesn't have the devastating side-effects that chemotherapy has.

i wont point out any websites or anything, but ive done alot of reading, and if i were diagnosed with cancer, the first thing id do is hit my body with a whammo of supplements and herbs like laetrile, b17, vitamin C, and essiac tea. surely it might not work, but surely couldn't hurt and very well could make a big difference in ones life. imho screw chemo. or if i did it would still use the natural herbs & vitamins on top of it!

along with other supplements like bee pollen, chlorella, & spirulina
any green superfood with immune building properties. plus all of the above.

At this point in time, there is no sure cure for cancer. Therefore, PREVENTION is the key.

Avoid junk food, soft drinks etc.

Eat healthy meat like poultry and fish, as well as plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Apricot seeds and apple seeds are the best and easiest way to obtain B-17. Limit apricot seed consumption to about ten per day. The cyanide at that level of consumption is beneficial, but just sitting around and eating them like you would nuts or chips, is not good for you.

Drink plenty of bottled water.

The only thing I partially disagree with is about bottled water. Many water bottles are made of cheap plastic that leeches into the water. :( Make sure you get quality plastic or glass!
