FreeRepublic: Rand Paul to Embrace Amnesty in Tuesday Speech

He specifically says this is NOT amnesty. Drudge is doing this, too. They want to see if they can knock Rand off the pedestal a little.

It's the moss-covered syndrome.

At least Drudge calls it a "path to citizenship," which is probably accurate. The free republic idiots think that anything short of deporting 11 million illegal immigrants is "amnesty."

Been skimming through some polls. Overall majority of Americans support a path to citizenship. Rand has a winning stance for the general. Dang he is looking FAR ahead.

Nice, I'm glad to see Rand taking a sensible, ethical, and politically popular position on this.

I have a solution for the immigration problem. Lets make it a quota system with one part from N America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa and group of people exceeding the quota limit would be sent home. Implement this and you will see how fast Mexican Americans would be against illegal immigration, right now they have a monopoly on illegal immigration and they love it.

Also we might as well just open up the boarders and quit wasting money on policing the boarders since there are going to be even more illegals and political pressure to grant the next wave of illegal immigrants citizenship if you grant the current ones citizenship. The new ones are going to voter for pools who will support granting legal status to their other relatives who did not make it.

You are being bullied by guests to your country and one thing I learned from my high school days, bullies never back down unless they are confronted and what Rand is proposing will only embolden the immigration activists

You can get opinion polls to say whatever you want:

Deport them? Give them citizenship? Depends on how you ask the question, how the survey is presented and usually who's paying for it to be carried out!
