Ron might be absorbing a lot of the potential anti-Rand votes though.
Like below if you support Rand Paul. Paul took the lead and is now neck and neck with Marco Rubio. Vote now: http://bit.ly/RyWZoi
Rand is only 19 votes ahead of Rubio.
It's funny that there are so many people who say that they want a Rand/Rubio ticket or a Rubio/Rand ticket. It's good that Rand is a lot of people's 2nd choice and that he's reaching a lot more people than Ron reached, but it's just funny that so many people don't realize that the difference between Rand and Rubio is like night and day.
The leftists on Chris Matthews show today were giddy talking about Rubio for President. They said his vote against the fiscal cliff deal makes him the Tea Party front runner.
That's the media for ya. If you say it loud enough and repeat it over and over, pretty soon the electorate begins parroting the talking points like little zombies. Since everyone says, "I like Rubio!", pretty soon everyone says that without much knowledge of him. I can't even think of one Senate speech he gave? It's funny that there are so many people who say that they want a Rand/Rubio ticket or a Rubio/Rand ticket. It's good that Rand is a lot of people's 2nd choice and that he's reaching a lot more people than Ron reached, but it's just funny that so many people don't realize that the difference between Rand and Rubio is like night and day.
That's a man who thinks ahead!http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?400305-Rubio-voted-to-DOUBLE-Florida-schools-tax
All we need to do is find some people in Miami who can say Rubio raised my taxes during the recession.
That should hurt him.
It would make a good attack ad.
I assume you mean 5th place, he's far behind West. Amash is now tied for 5th place.Amash is abou 40 votes from 4th place. Come on guys spread it out!
After Rand and Rubio, poll is totally skewed by the fact that they give you 3 choices. I bet every single liberty person voted Rand, Ron, and Amash, and every teocon voted Rubio and West.
Georgia will support you -- get with Rubio and take back the country...
How about : Rand Paul and Marco Rubio ????
Senator Paul: please confer with Senator Rubio and decide which of you will run for Pre and which for VP; together, you could change America for the better; you can restore America to its former greatness; divided, we will be where we are now. Only as a unified team can the for America Americans defeat the commie village idiot democrats and the wimp-tyrants of the elite republicans!
On the contrary, Sens. Rubio and Paul are the ones who are speaking up for economic growth. They are the true leaders, not the legislators who vote with a party or president who they know is presiding over the decline of America. Clear as a bell to me and many, many others...
You and Rubio are the only politicians I trust.
You, Rand, are probably the only Republican fit to run for President! The only other one I might consider is Marco Rubio.
How can you trust Rubio? Dear god, he's a professional politician and lawyer while Rand is a doctor and extremely principled.
As Rand said in the Business Insider "Everyone is for cuts in the abstract", we have to nail Rubio on this and ask him what he would cut from the Federal budget to balance it. I suspect he will keep avoiding this question and offer empty platitudes and rhtetoric about "compassionate conservatism" or "opportunity conservatism" and the faithful will lap it up.
I dont think there's any point in trying to change minds on Rubio.
We can only undermine him once the campaign is underway and he is considered a threat.
The negative ads will have to come from the grassroots via PACs (Liberty for All PAC?) as Rand is likely to run a positive campaign. We definitely need a PAC that is willing to get dirty with any emerging rivals in Iowa, NH and SC and it will need a $2-3m budget to air ads for 3-4weeks.
I suggest two things:
1) Rubio voted to raise school district taxes every year in the Florida legislature. He claimed in his Senate campaign he "never voted to raise taxes" but Politifact rated this as false. Not only did he vote to raise school district taxes he also voted twice to raise property taxes as a county commissioner in Miami.
I suggest finding people in Miami to say to the camera that Rubio raised my taxes during the recession and interspersing with the details below, surely we can find a hard working family in Miami who doesn't like him for the ad.

2) Rubio voted against cutting foreign aid when he voted nay against Rand's amendment. Therefore we can only infer that he's not serious about getting to grips with the budget problems.
Plus there will be other votes but Rubio has his eye on 2016 and is being very careful with his votes.
