Frank Luntz is usually right much to the chagrin of this forum. But there is tough medicine that doesn't go away.
I honestly never got the Luntz hate.
Apologies Op, but I think I'm going to have to 1 star this thread. I just don't think there's anything to learn from this.
Thanks, just added it to my Amazon list. Except that I will be buying it used so as to not give Luntz any direct moneyHe understands the connotative effects of language as well as anyone in the world, and his book, Words that Work, is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand political messaging (cough, cough, that's us folks).
Why do you think Rand Paul is sooooo popular among teaocons? He could moderate the rhetoric to try to win over new people
If you are going to feed people broccli, you need to know what will make them be willing to eat it. Do they want salt on it? Do they want cheese on it?Yeah, Liberty is a bad, bad word and a terrible concept. We should all just give on it and stop talking about it to fit in with the power structure. NOT
Actually he is an expert in his area, and he's a talented propagandist. He's not talented @ all.
The average voter doesn't think critically, they feel emotionally. It's marketing 101, you must appeal to people on an emotional level if you are going to bring them to action. The language spin is what neocons and 9/12 ers have adopted from the Luntz trained msm types to dumb down discussion in other platforms such as forums and every day speak among as well as in the direction of the otherwise unsuspecting.
In other words, refrain from condoning critical thought at all cost...
