Fox News Settles for $787.5 Million

You support tyrants by repeating the lies you are gullible enough to believe. You support the shit that is gonna kick off WWIII and get people KILLED.

Real freedom is the Freedom to be able to choose to ignore people like you.

I wish you the best of luck in fighting tyranny through defeating the mole children who are cutting out cow buttholes in texas.

Congratulations. You actually said something obnoxious, irrelevant and nonsensical enough to displace Swordsmyth from my sig.

We're truly honored. While we wish we could take all of the credit, we have to thank dannno and natural news for their contributions to this glorious achievement.

h/t to the article on *checks notes* climate activists mutilating cows in Texas.

I have no idea how anyone can see a 3/4 Billion dollar payout to be a positive spin for FOX and Tucker's position on this. It is not a good look and it's not easily defended that FOX did nothing wrong. Just bad optics all around.

Guess what dufus? The same story was covered by NBC news. I guess the world is just a bunch of conspiracy theorists.

I'm still trying to figure out how they came up with that figure. Where is this $787 million worth of damage to Dominion's "reputation"?

It was "shut up" money.

The figures are bogus. Blackrock owns 4.67% of Fox, and minority shareholders like that don't get to decide whom the company sues. https://finance.yahoo.com/quote/fox/holders/

Dominion is a private company, so its shareholders aren't a matter of public record. However, in 2018 State Street Capital, LLC bought a 76% stake in the company, and in or around 2020 CEO Jeff Poulous said in a letter to the House Committee on Administration that he owns a 12% stake of the company, while 75.2% is owned by Staple Street Capital and no other investors own more than a 5% stake.

Thanks for confirming that acptulsa's comment is in fact true by rushing in to debunk it, complete with MSM sources. The count should be here momentarily to offer support.

I wonder who owns State Street Capital.

Nobody's saying. But William Earl Kennard, former FCC chair, former ambassador to the EU, and also a member of the boards of Ford and AT&T, is one of their three board members.

A little better connected than those investors who were playing with GameStop, no?

If acptulsa's comment is true why would you want to know who owns State Street Capital?

In fact, it looks like whoever came up with the numbers acptulsa posted got his companies mixed up. As of January 31, 2023 Blackrock owned 59 million shares of Dominion Resources, Inc., an energy company that is not the same as Dominion Voting Systems. https://fintel.io/so/us/d/blackrock

I think it more interesting that there's no plausible denial going on over whether BlackRock owns Fox News now.

Sonny Tufts is correct. I think y'all are confusing State Street Corporation, 3.31% owner of Fox News Corporation, with Staple Street Capital, which owns 75% of Dominion Voting Systems. Y'all are barking up the wrong tree. I see how easy it is to confuse the two. I had to flip back and forth between the Yahoo and USAToday links to figure it out.

Seriously folks, Tucker privately and publicly called bollocks on the claim that Dominion Voting Systems was owned by Hugo Chavez. That's the provable lie that Trump's lawyer Sydney Powell was pushing without evidence. The "Dominion and Fox are owned by the same people" argument seems to be more of the same.

I think it more interesting that there's no plausible denial going on over whether BlackRock owns Fox News now.

Fox has two classes of common stock, Class A and Class B. Class A shareholders can vote only on major things like liquidation of the company, mergers, and a sale of substantially all of the assets of the company. Class B holders have full voting rights.

The Murdoch Family Trust owns 43% of the Class B shares. While BlackRock currently owns 15.1% of the Class A stock, it owns none of the Class B, and in the last 5 years has never owned more than 5.9% of the Class B shares. Guess who controls the day-to-day operation of the company? It ain't BlackRock. https://fintel.io/so/us/fox/blackrock
