Last saturday we had convention in King county (largest county in the state, nearly 1/3rd of state population).

We had significant presence 35-40% but Romney had around 60%.

It's pretty hard to call many states for particular candidates since there's still a lot of delegates to be awarded in most states. State conventions aren't even until June in a lot of states.

What happened? Was it the full county? Because I the last I heard out of there was good.

was that the one you went to on the 14th? Because that was only one piece of the county, right?

I expect it to be a nail biter, Missouri also, and now the St Charles folks are being challenged for -- of all things -- supposed lack of authority for the state to reschedule a new caucus when they improperly shut the first one down and had Stafford, trying to continue the meeting by parliamentary procedure, dragged off in hand cuffs.

Yes. It was full king county. We did win several districts that comprised king county, lost some, got a few delegates in others. Like 2 out of 28 in LD48. But in terms of delegates on the floor, we had < 50%.

Last saturday was full county convention that was working on the platform. We lost to Romney / establishment on votes during the platform fights and officer election.
Though we were a vocal minority and won one procedural vote when they tried to ban unoffical video recording. (Ban failed).

Example of the what we could not do: We failed to strike down from the plaform a statement: (We absolutely oppose any cuts to military spending). I think they just wanted to rub it in for us
We failed to stop the resolution that said: "WAGOP opposed pot decriminalization" and a few others.

But no delegates were voted last week? I know your LD48 didn't get much on the `14th but there were others that did quite well, so we'll see.

Can someone explain to me how gathering delegates in a GOP primary helps a democrat in the general election?

The "it only helps Obama get re-elected" meme has begun and I expect it to get worse. A client ofmine just told me two days ago that she likes Ron Paul and would vote for him, but at this point a "vote for Paul will result in Obama being elected."

I told her that's bullshit and explained that we take votes away from Obama and Romney. I then explained that if Romney is the nominee, many voters will simply stay home. Thus, it's the GOP that is ensuring Obama's reelection.

Look for this meme to increase as we continue racking up delegates.......

So many fallacies in that article. They quote Ron getting one delegate in Iowa as truth and as if any attempt to acquire more than one is wrong. Hey, get this, NO DELEGATES, nada, none, not a single one was chosen on January 3 or at any point since the Iowa caucus. They are all chosen irregardless of the caucus/popular/straw poll vote in June. This is how a republic works people. Every state had a caucus system similar to Iowa's up until the early 1900's.

Can you do an alternative map with official bound delegates? This map may have unofficial delegates but I don't have a constant memory of what is bound/unbound. It would be great to compare side by side.

Every time I read or hear "unify the party" it drives me insane. I AM THE FUCKING PARTY. If you want to unify, fine. Unify behind my guy.

When the rules get setup in FL we will know if we have 51% supporters. For example when they say all delegates are bound for the person who won the state and you can not abstain from voting. That rule has to be defeated of else it is an early indication we don't have over 51% of the people on our side in FL. Or similar rules to that effect that get voted on.

We're all unified here. I don't get what these RNC folks are going on about. I'd say we're all strongly unified behind GOP contender Ron Paul. Why is the RNC against unity?

The fact is, Nevada is the first true strength test for this strategy. We must hold the line this weekend. I will be there doing my part toward unifying the party. heh
