Fox news has another poll up for tonight - [MOD-read it and DON'T vote for Ron

Was gonna vote Ron, then read the question on the site, then came here confused. Glad everyone figured it out.

I voted for Bachmann.

It isn't that, it is the pre-edit OP.

Well the terribly annoying thing about this whole situation is that Mox can twist this poll either way. If Ron wins, they call him desperate. If he loses, then they can only discredit him further. Either way, I think Ron is gonna get screwed by the major media once again. Maybe it'll be different now now that he has more influence... maybe.

I agree. But it is more difficult to screw someone if that person won poll. Also, we all discussed here for days how RP needs strongest showing in the Iowa Straw Poll, in order to win undecided voters, and more important to discredit once and for all all Bill Riley's which call him unelectable. So why to pretend? Let's vote RP and show everybody that we believe in our guy, and our campaign, and that we know he will win the Iowa Straw Poll. We, last of all people, should show even tiniest trace of doubt...

That's the problem, it isn't Ron that we're doubting, the poll itself seems questionable in design.

Vote for who you really think 'needs' it, as in will crater without it. By all the media that would be Bachmann or Pawlenty, the first to show buzz is sticking, the second to breath life into a campaign on life support. But it ISN'T Ron, who has us, and logic on his side, IMHO

To the OP, welcome to the forum!

We do NOT want to vote for Ron in this poll. It does NOT ask who should win but who desperately NEEDS to win.... Media is saying Bachmann needs it with Perry coming in, and that Pawlenty needs it or his campaign is gone, etc. DON"T vote for Ron.

Ron Paul 24.82% (654 votes)
Michele Bachmann 17.5% (461 votes)
Herman Cain 15.98% (421 votes)
Tim Pawlenty 15.22% (401 votes)
Mitt Romney 11.12% (293 votes)
Newt Gingrich 7.13% (188 votes)
Rick Santorum 4.25% (112 votes)
Jon Huntsman 3.98%

Alright guys, lets focus and all vote for Bachman, this is one we don't want to lose and she is probably the one we want to raise expectations of. We want Ron not to win this poll, and it doesn't really matter who does as long as its him. Also, Bachman is already in 2nd place, so less ground to cover.

I honestly think the best outcome would be to have it be a close poll, with Ron and other big names all together. That way they cannot write off Ron without writing off the other big names, and they also can't give too much oomph to any other candidate without acknowledging Ron Paul. I think a great outcome would be:

Paul 20%
Bachman 19%
Romney 19%
Santorum 10%
Pawlenty 9%
Cain 5%

etc.

leaves them no direction to spin it.

I question your motives

My better judgement told me to pass on this entirely. But I didn't listen. Voted for Bachmann. :o

Yeah, you got me! I'm actually actually Marcus Bachmann, supporting my sweet little wife here on RP forums...

Or Bill Maher. :p

It's the whole "c'mon guys, let's really show how much we believe in our candidate" stuff that has been seen here before.

We should vote for Romney. (I can't believe I just said that)

He's obviously going to do poorly in the straw poll, so if we raise expectations for him that can only knock him down

Edit: Bachmann would be great too since she's our main rival at this point

many times.

Folks DON'T vote for Ron. Vote for Bachmann or whomever you think will be most hurt by doing poorly. Ron has an opportunity to surge, but won't be 'hurt' either way. Bachmann's poll numbers are dropping and with Perry entering the race she needs a win, being the 'frontrunner'. Pawlenty need SOMETHING, clearly....Don't vote for Ron.

Ron 'winning' this poll would say Ron is desperate for a win.

Well, now you are soft on me. I would definitely rather be Bill Maher then Marcus Bachmann, if I can choose... ;-)

voted FOR Bachmann .... yeechhhh!

Seems shady to me, especially coming from Fox.

It looks like they found the worst picture of Dr. Paul that they could find for their lineup too - I'd almost swear it was "doctored" to look bad.

And check out the bio-blurbs they put beside the pictures. According to FOX, Bachmann is "known for fiery attacks on President Obama and her formidable fundraising" while Ron "unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008." (At least they say the same thing about Romney.)
