FOX (Hannity & Colmes) just announced Paul was 3rd in Iowa

I think if someone had grabbed it, it would be up by now.

Hopefully someone will grab it on the repeat.

I thought I was going to faint dead away.

CNN had him at 5th place, but only 2 points behind third place.

Frankly, I thought Ron would be lucky to even hit 5th in Iowa, given that 80% of Iowa Republicans still think Bush is doing a good job.

If Ron can come in 3rd, 4th, or 5th in Iowa, which may be the worst state in the Union for a guy like Ron Paul, he may really shake things up in NH (which may be the best state for Ron Paul).

You're not in Iowa, no republican thinks that that I've ever met

He had Dennis Hof, one of his hookers, and a lady from hookers for Jesus on his radio show last night, and after every commercial he mentioned Hof's suuport for Ron Paul. Good or bad????
Think about the demographic of Colme's radio show. Bad? I don't know.

I had heard this too - that 80% of Iowa Republicans still think that Bush is doing a good job.

What I later found out, is that it is 80% of Iowa Republicans WHO ANSWERED THE REPUBLICAN PREFERENCE POLL who think this way. This is why the polls show Ron Paul doing poorly - they are polling people who prefer George Bush.

First off, I NEVER trust Fox News. Never.

But my first post is in regards to "real" expectations. If we can get a basis on previous assumptions from this organization, which has Dr. Paul in 3rd, I think it could be a viable barometer for true rankings.

We all say this poll or that poll is found wanting, but we hold onto this one as if its true.
I am looking for legitimacy from this group to make a 'real' determination.

Just so you know, I don't find Rasmussen or Zogby legitimate for a few reasons. So I am not looking for cracks - I want to find legitimacy for my own assurance.

Historically, Rasmussen is the most accurate national polling firm in America. I believe the American Research Group is the most statistically inaccurate.

I wouldn't be surprised at the American Research Group being the most inaccurate. I mentioned a few days ago that nearly every single one of their polls are skewed against Paul, and I say that just in comparison to the other polls during the same time periods, which are all much higher.

YOUTUBE!!
That's awesome. You know, at first I thought there was malicious implications with your post... in my mind I said "holy crap those soldiers are going to completely run over those Iraqis [Afghanis?]"... then I said "holy crap, there is a Ron Paul sticker on that thing!" Awesome :)

Third Place

Ron Paul -- The more we think about it, the more we conclude that none of the remaining candidates on this list have a strong base of support the way Rep. Paul does. His unlikely coalition of supporters does not include many typical caucus-goers, but they are devoted. And to top it all off, the campaign appears to be fairly well organized here, with paid calls, visibility (television, radio, billboards), and direct outreach efforts. Much about the Paul campaign will remain up in the air until caucus night, but a third place finish would certainly raise some eyebrows heading into New Hampshire.
