They were good friends in the Republican Liberty Caucus, but that doesn't necessarily mean jack squat. Of course, Tanc really has nothing to lose at this point either, since he's also bailing on his congressional seat next year.

How about getting a team of RP supporters lined up to write him after the announcement asking for his endorsement?

Media will most likely scorn and ignore him if he endorses Ron Paul anyway. Also, I think Tancredo is too hawkish to endorse Ron Paul. But who knows. Say, when is Hunter going to drop out?

We do not need him to endorse us. He has not garnered enugh support to do us any good and probably some of his folks will come our way but not all.. (imo)

Hunter will stay in as long as he can possibly afford it so I guess we will seee when q4 reports come out.

Tancredo's support was underestimated in polls because a lot of people were afraid to admit endorsing him (a little like RP actually)-- RP is in ageement with Tancredo on the border fence (though without Tancredo's divisive rhetoric)-- Bottom Line- If you were supporting Tancredo, you were very alienated from the GOP establishment-- and therefore an excellent candidate to move to the Ron Paul camp.

If you support Tancredo, him putting his weight behind Ron shows you he is tough on immigration too.

That isn't a bad thing in a country mostly against amnesty.

This shows how hollow his candidacy is. Even Chris Dodd and Hunter are at least hanging aorund for 3 more weeks to see what the Iowans do. It is very unusual to drop out so close to the voting.

Maybe Tancredo wants to position himself for a cabinet position, by getting out without having attacked anybody. He probably will NOT stick his neck out and endorse RP.

I think the bigger question here is whether tancredo dropping out opens the door for a possible Buchanan endorsement? I doubt it, but didn't his sis or something work for the tancredo campaign? That would be big for rp in Hampshire. Probably wishful thinking...
