Giuliani Employs Accused Pedophile Priest

Monsignor Alan Placa, the priest who presided over the wedding
of Rudy Giuliani and Donna Hannover, stands accused of repeatedly sexually
molesting at least three boys at his former parish.
Amid the controversy, Placa stepped down from his duties at
the Long Island Catholic diocese, but he did not have much trouble finding work.

According to ABC News:

Presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani hired a Catholic priest to work in
his consulting firm months after the priest was accused of sexually molesting
two former students and an altar boy and told by the church
to stop performing his priestly duties.

In 2002, a Grand Jury found that Placa, along with several of his fellow priests,
could not be prosecuted because the statue of limitations had passed on the
crimes. Placa also had a role in covering up the sexual crimes of the clergy,
including his own, as he worked as the lawyer for the diocese, employing what
the Grand Jury termed, "deception and intimidation," to keep the allegations from
the light of day.

Mr. Placa remains on the Giuliani payroll, despite the growing outcry from
protesters at his campaign events. In an appearance on "Good Morning America"
one of the victims, Richard Tollner, had this to say about Placa and his Giuliani's
relationship:

"This man did unjust things, and he's being protected and employed and taken
care of. It's not a good thing."

Rudy's response to those who would criticize his choice of company is now a
familiar one. As is the case with Bernard Kerik, Giuliani is standing by Placa:

"I know the man; I know who he is, so I support him," Giuliani said. "We give
some of the worst people in our society the presumption of innocence and
benefit of the doubt," he said. "And, of course, I'm going to give that to one of my
closest friends."

Such compassionate rhetoric from the man running on his law and order record
as New York's mayor is a tad hard to swallow. Mr. Giuliani has always prided
himself on possessing a prosecutor's zeal, but it seems that when his own
friends are the criminals in question, his loyalty comes first. Indeed, the Grand
Jury found plenty of evidence against Placa, but the shelf-life of the statue had
simply expired. Mr. Kerik may not be so lucky. He faces Federal charges on
bribery and obstruction of justice.

The question is whether these episodes tell us something about the kind of
president Mr. Giuliani would make. Certainly, he's not the only candidate whose
judgement had been called into play as regards misplaced personal loyalties.
Mitt Romney and Barack Obama come to mind. But what is particularly striking
in Rudy's case is that in stretching his compassion to cover the indiscretions of
his friends, he undercuts a central theme of his own making: that he's tough on
crime.

Just curious,

Why is McCain, Brownback and the Huckster showing up at the main page with a line through their names? Not that im complaining:D, just wondering. I know Brownbacks out so..............

They have been outed on the rounds of voting. Each round one was removed. On this one it's looking like Rudy will be outed. Tancredo was beating him last time I noticed.

Just use the macro scheduler I put on a previous message and you can set it and forget it. Within 20 minutes, I was able to create a couple of hundred votes. The good part is if you are voting in something that tries to block multiple votes by using cookies, you simply can add in the macro to clear your cookies.

Why give legitimacy to the spammer theory? We don't need stuff like that.

I've never used a macro. Don't intend to. It's more fun doing all the hard work and watching the numbers go up half-a-half-percent. The poll says we're supposed to have fun, after all. :)

As long as you are having fun and working for the rEVOLution, it doesn't matter how. What frustrates me are the holier than thou people who think this should be a business as usual campaign. They wouldn't have 1/10th the media attention if we ran this business as usual.

Daron,

what you are doing is stupid and not helpful.

It is not "I", it is "We". The rEVOLution will not sit by and conduct a business as usual campaign. You may think passing out little fliers will get you media attention, but it wont. Do you think you would have 1/10th the media coverage if it weren't for the rEVOLutionaries?

Look at this thread and the past several threads in the grassroots forum. The Business as Usual campaigners are in the minority. The rEVOLutionaries are the ones keeping you afloat.

Daron,

You are not helping, we have real people, grow up and realize that your ways are not helping.

Daron -

I like your enthusiasm. Representing Paul online is good -- it gets us some media exposure, and it solidifies his online base. However, the campaign will still be won doing "business as usual." We need to get a large percentage of primary voters voting for Paul. Certainly some of those will be non-traditional primary voters -- younger folk who came to know and love Ron Paul online. But historically it's older people who show up to vote in the primary. The older people aren't part of Ron's online revolution. They need to see him in a positive light through traditional means: on TV, in the newspapers, and in person on the campaign trail.

Please do not disparage the people doing "business as usual". It's a vital component to Ron's success. We will not win the primary with only internet voters, period. We need neighborhood canvassing, representation at state and local GOP meetings, and so on. It's a multi-pronged attack, and it's all necessary.

Thanks for listening.

PS: I know you're into revolutionary themes, but why did you choose a socialist revolutionary for your avatar? There are plenty of other revolutionary heroes to choose from that have a message in line with Paul's. The founding fathers come to mind. Socialism is anathema to RP's freedom message.
