Four weeks of VALUABLE radio airtime up for grabs

I leave for one class and Ron Paul is at 14.0%. Now he's over 33%.
This poll encourages spamming. What a joke.

its about the money.. they wanted hits on their ads.. dont you see that? and in return they will give the winning candidate some air time name recognition.

period.

there is nothing immoral about voting in such a poll... they requested voters to vote again.. as each time the page reloaded a new ad was shown.

chill out. its an AM radio station not the election

yeah also the guy who started this thread has... 1 post. SO... maybe he works for the site and wanted some ad moolah.

CONSPIRACY!CONSPIRACY!CONSPIRACY!CONSPIRACY!CONSPIRACY!CONSPIRACY!CONSPIRACY!CONSPIRACY!

Well, if that was his angle...then KUDOS to him, because he succeeded wildly.

Also, the advertisers might be in for a shock when they get their bill. In that case, they can (perhaps rightly) make the claim that the ad impressions were obtained fraudulently.

its not fraudulent: the WEBSITE REQUESTED VOTERS TO VOTE AGAIN and in doing so a new ad loads... getting people to the ad for instance was thoughtful.. and smart. some voted once others didnt.. its all the same.

no fraud.. we were invited thats all.

Yep, this is a direct quote from the website:

"The KEX Presidential Straw Poll is unscientific, unofficial and designed for entertainment purposes. Vote as often as you’d like for any candidate and HAVE FUN!"

I'm having fun. ;)

You might have misunderstood me, and/or I misspoke.

I was trying to say that the advertisers may believe the radio station was acting fraudulently by charging them for ads which appear for maybe 2 seconds as people quickly re-vote again and again.

Hopefully the advertisers pay for unique impressions (by IP address for example) rather than simply for each time a page/ad is loaded.

I never meant to imply that we were acting fraudulently by voting multiple times -- I'm sorry if that's how it came across. As many have already pointed out, the radio station itself is inviting people to vote multiple times. If they're doing this so they can make a lot of money with internet ads, I'd say it's at least ethically questionable.

After spending a couple of minutes "fighting the good fight" for Mr. Tancredo, it seems as though I'm about to be overtaken by the Giuliani crew. :(:)

Someone must have called Rudy Judyani's person...

he's beating Tancredo again..

Maybe I'm thick, but where on the site does it say anything about free advertising?

In the mean time, I'm writing a script to vote for all the democrats except Hillary. Bump her off! :D

They'll talk about the poll on the station.. not.. "given" free ads...

just.. the airtime talking about the candidates left in the poll..

WHICH.. as we were FAR BEHIND in the beginning..

We would been kicked out of the race.. and not gotten any mention.. EXCEPT..

How the great Ron Paul Army lost in the early rounds..

I don't want to hear them gloat over an early defeat..

No.. ain't gonna happen...

You all realize we'll have to do this all over again next week ...and for the next four weeks, right? ;)

.

Trying to.. DUMP... RUDY JUDYANI... out of the poll and race..

.

Good idea. This isn't the final results or anything.
This just decides which 4 move on to the next round.
The earlier Rudy is out the better.
