Can you become a delegate for a state that has already had its primary?

Doubtful, but it depends on the state. Your best bet would be to get in touch with your county GOP chairman & find out if there are any open spots. It can't hurt!! Call tomorrow. I know they can appoint people at will to Precinct Committeemen positions, so they may be able to do it for open delegate positions.

We're at half-time and arguing over the final score, so no, this conversation isn't making a lot of sense. Here are my thoughts:

I do agree with this. We just can't give up hope all together. Even false hope at this point would be preferable to none at all.

I however do agree with many of the points that you lay out. I am always in agreement with anything that increases our chances.

Bradley: in those rules it says territories count.. Would that mean if we win the majority in places like American Samoa & Guam we'd qualify?

Depends on the state. New Jersey, for example, had its primary (which doesn't count for poop) but won't select delegates until June.

Possibly. County and district conventions are underway and few state conventions have happened. Check the thread for your state in this forum.

Yes, McCain CAN get the nomination. Please stop this madness. Learn the real rules.

Bradley, there are a whole lot of factors going on. While I'll agree that it could happen, many things are in play to endanger it. The Constitutional requirement is big and untested. There are even government websites that define it in such a way as to pronounce McCain ineligible. The FEC hasn't spoken. Most Republicans really, really don't like the guy.

Not impossible, no. Maybe he CAN get the nomination. But if I had to wager on it, I'd wager against it. Honestly.
