Former pilot and 9/11 conspiracy theorist shoots and kills 2 teen children, then himself

That last Tweet looks like a key.

Wonder what it opens.

That Twitter entry was a random character string uploaded by his publicist to confirm his identity to the Reddit thread I linked to earlier.

"868gdmzs" was posted at 1:19 am on Feb 5 to @thebigbamboozle -- more than 12 hours ago EST. So it appears that it was already there when octagon420 posted here that he was about to tweet it. I'm not convinced. Anybody could have seen that tweet and come on here to say they'd tweeted it. We need to see a tweet done after you say you're going to do it.
Would you be willing to tweet this exact phrase: "We are heartbroken about Bill and the children."
If not please state what phrase you'd be willing to tweet. Thanks.

Porter & 'the boys': Goss Made His 'Bones' on Cia Hit Team

This is Marshall's Operation 40 Hit Team photo avatar on those tweets:

Here's Dan Hopsicker's story about how he got the photo and what it means:

"Look out kid, They keep it all hid.”
Bob Dylan “Subterranean Homesick Blues”

WORLD EXCLUSIVE
May 6 2006--Venice,FL.
by Daniel Hopsicker

Deposed CIA head Porter Goss was once a member of the CIA's super-secret Operation 40, an assassination squad which roamed through North and Central America during the 1960's.

Along with a number of men whose names became famous and whose lives and careers comprise a large part of America’s Secret History, Goss appears (see a comparison) in the historic photograph at right, which also appears on the cover of "Barry & 'the boys': The CIA, the Mob, and America's Secret History."

It is the only extant photograph of the members of Operation Forty, the CIA’s assassination squad, taken in a Mexico City nightclub in 1963.

Coupled with his close proximity to the terrorist hijackers who used his Congressional District in Charlotte County as one of their main bases of operations, this fact virtually shouts out for closer examination during the post-mortems dissecting his tenure as CIA chief.

When we first saw the photo, it was in the yellowed frame used by nightclub photographers back in the 60's. It bore the name of a nightclub (La Reforma) in Mexico City, and was stamped with a date, January 22, 1963, ten months to the day before the Kennedy assassination.

"Guido, meet the General. General, meet Guido."

The Mexico City nightclub photo reveals a mixed group of Cuban exiles, Italian wise guys, and square-jawed military intelligence types. It was discovered among keepsakes kept in the safe of the widow of CIA pilot and drug smuggler Barry Seal, where it was overlooked by a 7-man team from the U.S. State Department which showed up at her house in 1995 to comb through her records.

Barry Seal had been recruited at the age of 17, along with Lee Oswald, by CIA agent David Ferrie, at a two week summer camp of the Louisiana Civil Air Patrol in 1957.

The product of a patrician Connecticut upbringing, an elite preparatory school and Yale University, Goss entered the high-stakes espionage game being played out between the Florida Keys and the coast of Cuba after the CIA-backed coup against Castro collapsed at the Bay of Pigs.

"During his junior year, he met a CIA recruiter through his ROTC commanders,” reported the September 24, 2002 Orlando Sentinel, in a story headlined “TERRORISM FIGHT KEEPS REP. GOSS IN POLITICAL FRAY.”

“It is true I was in CIA from approximately the late 50's to approximately the early 70's,” Goss told antagonist Michael Moore.

At the time the picture was taken Barry Seal was a young-looking 24-year old. Porter Goss was the same age.

"They've given you a number, and taken 'way your name."

Seal is seated third from left. Sitting right next to him (second from left) is Porter Goss. Beside Goss is notorious "freedom fighter" Felix Rodriguez (front left), a Cuban vice cop under the corrupt Mob-run Batista regime in Cuba who later became an Iran Contra operative and a confidant of the first George Bush.

On the other side of the table is the the only spook celebrant displaying any regard for tradecraft... Covering his face with his sport coat is Frank Sturgis, famous for being one of the Watergate burglars.

Beside Sturgis (front right) is another famous spook, at least among Kennedy assassination researchers, William Seymour, the New Orleans representative of the Double-Chek Corporation, a CIA front used to recruit pilots (like Seal). Seymour is regarded by many researchers as the man who on several notable occasions is said to have impersonated Lee Harvey Oswald, when that lone nut gunman was out of the country.

At the time it was taken the CIA's covert action chief in Mexico City was David Atlee Phillips, AKA Maurice Bishop, who reportedly met with Oswald in Dallas before the assassination.

"You don't have the negative too do you?"

The sensitive nature of the picture was confirmed by a person who had known and worked with Seal, who incidentally had been the inspiration for the hit song "Secret Agent Man," by his buddy Johnny Rivers in the 'mid-60's.

The man, also the executor of Seal's estate, reacted with unconcealed shock when first shown the picture. “Where did you get that?” he demanded. “I didn’t know there were any… Where did this picture come from?"

“Yeah, Barry was Op Forty,” Jerry Patrick Hemming confirmed. “He flew in killer teams inside the island (Cuba) before the invasion to take out Fidel.”

Frank Sturgis, a member of the team that broke into Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate complex in 1972, later admitted to having been part of Operation Forty.

Other famous names who belonged to Operation Forty include Thomas Clines, Edwin Wilson and "Blond Ghost" Ted Shackley.

Colonel William Bishop showed author Dick Russell a series of photographs of Latin-looking individuals who belonged to the group. On the backs of the pictures were the words "Special talent 1960-65, Ice pick man ... Butcher... Sniper and demo [demolition] expert ... Propaganda ... Knife man... Pilot and navigator ... Mutilator."

“Bishop said, ‘We weren't playing a nice game.’”

When nephew Chuck Giancana wrote about Mob Boss Sam Giancana’s strategic move to Mexico in early 1963, he wrote this about Operation Forty...

"It was to be an all-out, no-holds-barred Latin American push. Mooney (Giancana) settled into a lavish Mexico City apartment and went right to work, drawing on the expertise and mammoth resources of the recently-formed CIA team of assassins and operatives specifically trained for Latin American clandestine operations. CIA insiders jokingly dubbed the team the White Hand, an allusion to the Mafia killer progenitors the Black Hand."

"You're not cleared for that information."

Although the photo was available at the time of his confirmation as head of the CIA, the major media showed no inclination to press Goss on the matter. In fact, the party line rang out everywhere.

"Rep. Porter J. Goss has disclosed precious few details of his CIA employment from roughly 1960 to 1971,” reported a profile in the Associated Press. Reuters called him a “mystery man,” and said he had been “close-mouthed about his past.”

“He worked in Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Mexico-tumultuous countries during that decade of the Cold War,” Reuters reported.

During a 2002 interview with The Washington Post, Goss joked that he performed photo interpretation and "small-boat handling," which led to "some very interesting moments in the Florida Straits."

He acknowledged he had recruited and run foreign agents and said he would be uncomfortable traveling to Cuba but wouldn't say more.

“With a prep-school education and a Greek major at Yale, Goss passed up the conventional life to be a CIA spook,” reads one typical wire service account.

Actually, the facts lean heavily towards the proposition that with “a prep school education and a Greek major at Yale,” Goss’s choice to become a CIA spook in the early 60's was an entirely conventional one.

"Closed orders and secret societies"

The appointment of Porter Goss revealed that what passes for American civic life may in reality be just an elaborate game of Inside Baseball. Goss found himself paired often with fellow Floridian, Democratic Sen. Bob Graham, then the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, leading the joint congressional inquiry into the attacks.

The two men share another unique distinction: both were having breakfast on the morning of September 11th, 2001 with a man who reportedly wired $100,000 to Mohamed Atta.

"When the news [of the attacks on the World Trade Center] came, the two Florida lawmakers who lead the House and Senate intelligence committees were having breakfast with the head of the Pakistani intelligence service.”

In testimony before Congress on February 9, 2004, Chief Weapons Inspector David Kay noted, "Closed orders and secret societies, whether they be religious or governmental, are the groups that have the hardest time reforming themselves in the face of failure without outside input."

When was the last time anyone heard a weapons inspector mention secret societies?

Do you ever get the feeling there's something they're not telling us?

...contract pilot for the CIA's Special Activities Division during the Iran-Contra affair, flying shipments to and from Nicaragua.

Hmm... this is noteworthy.

Former National Security Agency officer Wayne Madsen was on Coast to Coast last night. In the first hour, Wayne Madsen commented on the mysterious death of Philip Marshall and provided various news updates.

For those who frequently listen, remember that Philip Marshall was a frequent guest as well on Coast. Most recently just a few months ago. That discussion is in this thread, I think.

Relevant reading...

After a week-long on-site investigation, former National Security Agency officer Wayne Madsen is “100% certain” that 9/11 investigator and author Philip Marshall and his two children were killed in a black ops hit. Madsen’s conclusion is that the cover story – an alleged murder-suicide – is transparently absurd.

Madsen stated his conclusions on yesterday’s Kevin Barrett show. Among the evidence cited by Madsen:*Neighbors’ houses are “practically on top of” Marshall’s house, so dozens of neighbors would have heard any gunshots that weren’t muffled by a silencer…and Marshall’s “patsy gun” did not have a silencer.

*The crime scene was illegally and surreptitiously cleaned up by professionals, including “a SUV, license undetermined, with an array of communication antennas bristling from the roof.” ... More

Btw, the reason for the art on the video is because the nuts and bolts of the remaining three hours were premised upon scientology. Jenna Miscavige Hill, niece of Church of Scientology leader David Miscavige, was raised as a Scientologist but left the controversial religion in 2005. She joined John B. Wells to share her true story of life inside the upper ranks of the sect and her ultimate escape from it.

Just pointing that out.

I had forgotten all about that song, a favorite back then. Never knew this background. Thanks!

PS. Frank Sturgis is also one of the three "bums" identified in Dallas on Nov.22, 1963 (Kennedy killed) in photographs that were taken when detained by police and released quickly after with no record of disposition.

Frank Sturgis, a member of the team that broke into Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate complex in 1972, later admitted to having been part of Operation Forty.

This story should read "allegedly" shhoots and kills.

Yet another good man (and his innocent children this time) snuffed out. Only one person for sure knows the truth--the person who really shot these people (and a few of his bosses).

Was covered on C2C last night, too.

Wow, this is enraging

Hopsicker just wrote a really important article about Marshall. This is a must read if you really want to understand how things are "kept under wraps":

http://www.madcowprod.com/2013/02/26/dad-kills-kids-and-self-the-philip-marshall-story/

As usual, Hopsicker is very convincing from his all-american blue collar detective point of view:

People who see conspiracies where none exist render ridiculous-by-association people questioning the multitude of conspiracies that do.

How things work in the real world

More importantly, this is not the way things work in the real world.

Americans have not been kind to its real investigative journalists in recent years.
As a reporter for the Associated Press (but not for long), Robert Parry was the first to report on what came to be known as Iran Contra.

Pete Brewton's ground-breaking reporting at the Houston Post on the S & L scandal (The Mafia, CIA and George Bush” (1992) soon led to his being shown the door.

And Gary Webb, who broke the story of CIA drug trafficking into the open, was summarily ushered out of newspaper reporting forever.

And Webb represented a far greater threat to the powers that be than Phil Marshall ever could, even in his wildest dreams.

Gary Webb committed suicide on the day he lost his home. He'd already lost almost everything else: his family, his wife, his livelihood. An authentic American hero, Gary Webb was going to be moving home to live with his Mom.

He'd already asked his ex-girlfriend if he could share her apartment. At first she had said yes, but then changed her mind at the last minute, not wanting to lead him on in the hope that they'd rekindle a romance. Desperate, Webb asked his ex-wife if he could live with her until he regained his financial footing. She, too, refused.

Then, on the night before losing his house, Webb lost his last real possession. His motorcycle was stolen.

When he committed suicide, I never once doubted that that's exactly what happened. I'd been there. And I have since had nothing but contempt for those who claim otherwise.

I'd spent a year living in motels after my first full-length documentary, "The Secret Heartbeat of America," failed to sell to television. I persisted. When Barry & the boys' was published, a lawsuit by one of Barry Seal's closest long-time associates kept the book out of bookstores for almost five years.

Again, I persisted. But I'd never tell anyone it was anything but a soul-killing dispiriting experience. It's an experience better people than me have faced again and again.

Telling the truth in America often feels like walking "Into The Buzzsaw," the title of a very good book about journalists exiled to the American gulag, a Siberia of the mind where nothing you do or report subsequently is ever treated seriously.

Expose anything this country's large institutions want kept under wraps… and the buzzsaw rips through you.

But they don't have to kill you to render you ineffective.

For the oligarchy ruling this country today, that part is easy.

While all the truthers were writing about molten steel after 9/11 only Hopsicker moved to Venice, Florida and did real detective work to follow the "trail of the assassins" the same way that Jim Garrison did vis-a-vis the murderers of JFK. Hopsicker interviewed everybody that Atta and company worked, lived, and ate with.

If you really want to know what the 9/11 operation was all about you have to read his articles. A lot of it has been scrubbed off the web because they're always sueing him and making him take stuff down.

One of my favorite stories is about Makram Chams and his Quickie Mart on Nokomis Avenue down the street from Venice Hospital and the psychiatrist who used to stop there sometimes on his way to and from work. (Makram Chams was a former Titan Industries U.S. government contractor and the 9/11 commission got sloppy and left Chams' Quickie Mart's Nokomis Avenue address on as the location for Atta's $70,000 money order that they displayed on the overhead projector at one of the hearings.) The way that the psychiatrist told the story about Atta and his crew hanging out at the Quickie Mart reminded me of how John Gotti or Tony Soprano and Paulie and the crew would gather at Satriale's Meat Market. Tons and tons more at madcowprod.com

Wow, this is enraging

Just have to keep on flowin....

Cool heads always prevail. Always.

I don't even know if I like the idea of this situation being discussed here on these boards. Too late now though.

President Bush Nominates Rep. Porter Goss as CIA Director

0810spybh.jpg

SUMMARY
President Bush has nominated Rep. Porter Goss, R-Fla., chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, as the next director of Central Intelligence. Jim Lehrer discusses the nomination with four intelligence experts.

RAY McGOVERN: I would say that Bill Colby was the exception to the rule. With respect to Porter Goss, he's got a record. Sen. Roberts eluded to his co-chairmanship of the joint committee that was the first to investigate 9/11. At the end of that committee, their final report left out all the information having to do with what the president of the United States was told prior to 9/11. The White House forbade that from being in the final report. Eleanor Hill, the executive director of that committee remonstrated loudly.
Porter Goss gave in to the White House, and so that report was ipso facto, incomplete, because it contained lots of stuff, but nothing on what the president was told before 9/11. That's proof positive to me that you've got a partisan person here who will do the bidding of the White House. And that's precisely why he's been nominated and nominated now because the controversy will now be centered on the failure of intelligence, Iraq, 9/11, failure of intelligence and no attention being given to the failure of the president.

http://www.calaverasenterprise.com/news/article_7a125160-6ff5-11e2-9b3b-001a4bcf887a.html
Calaveras County Coroner Kevin Raggio said he determined Philip Marshall and his two children were all killed by a gunshot wound to the head, after performing an autopsy Tuesday morning.

For details, read Tragedy at Forest Meadows.

Marshall shot his two children, Alex, 17, and Macaila, 14, along with the family dog before turning the gun on himself at his home in Forest Meadows late last week.
The weapon used in all the killings was a Glock 9mm, which was registered to Marshall, according to Sgt. Chris Hewitt of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office.
While the exact time of death was initially unclear, Raggio believes he’s narrowed it down.
“My assumption, from condition of the bodies and so forth, it occurred either late Thursday night or Friday morning,” he said. “Number one, the kids didn’t make it to school Friday.”
As is standard procedure in cases like these, Raggio is having a toxicology report performed on the blood of Marshall and his two children. These tests will determine if there were any drugs present in the blood stream.
Reports from the Sheriff’s Office indicate the children were sleeping when shot, however Raggio said they were lying six feet away from each other on separate parts of a large U-shaped sectional in the living room. It’s unlikely Marshall could have shot one without waking the other.

When Hewitt was asked about this, he declined to comment.
“I can’t comment on that,” he said. “It’s part of an active investigation.”

When asked whether it was possible that Alex and Macaila were drugged, Raggio said he couldn’t comment at this time.

“That’s a good question,” he said. “We will be checking tox on everybody. It did appear as though they were sleeping.”
Hewitt said the toxicology report and pathologist’s report will hopefully be completed within two-to-three weeks.

Conspiracy theories about the deaths are gaining steam on comment forums below stories about the incident, Hewitt noted. Many of these stem from Marshall’s apparent involvement with the CIA as a contract pilot in the 1980s and several books he wrote about 911 in which he accused the United States Government of being involved in the attacks.
Friends and classmates of Alex and Macaila were still in a state of shock and grief at Bret Harte High School Tuesday morning. Students from Calaveras High School put a large sign up above Alex and Macaila's lockers that read, "Two schools, one community, one heart."
Grief counselors will be available throughout the week to talk with grieving students.
A candlelight vigil will be held Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the quad. Candles will be provided, and attendees are asked to wear a white shirt.
A Memorial Service for Alex and Macaila will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bret Harte Football stadium.
Parents are pointed to this guide to help their children cope with the losses.

This whole thread gave me really bad chills.

The title of the thread first made me think...Oh No....a Conspirarcy theorist offs himself and then his kids...Just what we need...

And then after a couple posts there was mention of a dog being shot....After reading 1,000+ posts of AF's dog shootings....Immediately I started thinking...Wait a minute....You read these stories of Dogs getting killed and these families love their pets, and how these pets would never hurt or attack family members or anyone for that matter.....

But they will bark at strangers....

Even a crazy person saving his family from the devil and kills them to save them...I don't remember them offing the dog as well....That just seems SOOOO ODD...SO WEIRD!!!

Besides all the other stuff about the wedding ring and no ammo in his gun or any of that other stuff....There really is no explanation for shooting the dog.

Mystery Still Shrouds Triple Shooting Deaths, with Santa Barbara Ties, in Gold Country
By Editor on February 27, 2013 in News

Santa Barbara View Exclusive Report

As other sensational shooting stories jammed early February’s news scene, such as Oscar Pistorius and a cop-killing Christopher Dorner case, the so-called double homicide, suicide in Calaveras County that left three former South Coast residents dead has faded from view for the moment.

The pathology and toxicology reports regarding the early February deaths of former airline pilot Phillip Marshall and his teen son and daughter reportedly are held up in a backlog in a Sacramento crime lab
. However, published reports point to such notions as a twice-sanitized crime scene and the puzzling description of a right-handed man who shot a dog and his two children and then himself in the left side of his head.

Marshall was right handed, as seen in as-yet unreleased documentary films. His home in the security gate-entry Forest Meadows subdivision was surrounded by some 300 houses where four gunshots would have been heard by many of the residents there, according to at least one of those who has lived in the community for a decade.

A close associate of Marshall’s, who traveled to Turkey and other venues with him on business, said the former airline captain was financially stable after working as a trainer for Chinese pilots learning to fly Boeing 767s and making some real estate deals. Marshall and his ex-wife recently were involved in an import-export business.

The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department has not listed any type of motive for the slayings. However, some news media, including KEYT, reported Marshall “had a criminal past” because he was arrested, but not prosecuted, for a domestic disturbance involving his sister-in-law in 2009. According to Marshall’s last book, “The Big Bamboozle,” he was involved with convicted Col. Oliver North’s guns-for-cocaine scandal in Central America in the mid-1980s. Marshall was not prosecuted in that case either.

Last year, Marshall had contact with former U.S. Sen. Bob Graham, also a former Florida governor, who, along with former Sen. Bob Kerry of Nebraska, has called for reopening the investigation of the Sept. 11, 2011, terrorist attacks on the United States. Graham has yet to comment on Marshall’s death.

Marshall wrote in “The Big Bamboozle” that the Bush administration and the Saudi intelligence community were behind 9/11 by training the suicide pilots and by allowing U.S. military defenses to delay dealing with several fully fueled airliners to be used as missiles to attack the World TradeCenter, Pentagon and other targets.

Attacks on Bush and the Saudis were just two of the of Marshall’s interests in his books. He also wanted to take on the banking industry and pro-Israeli lobbyists. And, his experience with assassinated drug smuggler Barry Seals as a CIA and DEA operative in Central America madeMarshall a target for many who might find his books uncomfortable.

Marshall’s death has prompted hundreds of comments on online reports that his death was not as the Calaveras County sheriff reported. The vast majority of the comments contend Marshall was no nut job and could not have killed his former San Marcos High football player son, or his 14-year-old blonde daughter.

Calaveras County is one of the smaller counties in California. The only incorporated cities in the county are Murphys and Angels Camp, where Marshall’s ex-wife had a home where his children stayed with her. The Forest Meadows subdivision where Marshall died had a security guard at its front gate. But residents and friends of Marshall say anyone could have hiked in from the forest that surrounds the community off Highway 4.

Friends also say Marshall often left his front door open, but probably would have invited someone he knew into his home to show him the new pistol he purchased a month ago and was stored in a gun safe. A close associate of Marshall said he did not know why he purchased the Glock pistol, but had not bought any ammunition with it at the time he bought it.

One Forest Meadows resident, whose family has owned a home there for 35 years said many of his neighbors just don’t like what they read and hear about the killings. They say it just does not look right as they await word of pending pathology toxicology reports.

Phillip Marshall said the Saudi hijackers had ties to the Saudi Government (royal family)

Here's whowhatwhy.com from 2011:

Saudi Royal Ties to 9/11 Hijackers Via Florida Saudi Family?

fbi_hijackers-300x287.jpg

WhoWhatWhy has found evidence linking the Saudi royal family to Saudis in South Florida who reportedly had direct contact with the 9/11 hijackers before fleeing the United States just prior to the attacks. Our report connects some of the dots first laid out by investigative author Anthony Summers and Florida-based journalist Dan Christensen in articles jointly published in the Miami Herald and on the nonprofit news site BrowardBulldog.org.

In early September of this year, Summers and Christensen reported that a secret FBI probe, never shared with Congressional investigators or the presidential 9/11 commission, had uncovered information indicating the possibility of support for the hijackers from previously unknown confederates in the United States during 2001.

Now WhoWhatWhy reveals that those alleged confederates were closely tied to influential members of the Saudi ruling elite.

As reported in the Herald, phone records documented communication, dating back more than a year, that connected a Saudi family then living in a house near Sarasota, Florida, with the alleged plot leader, Mohammed Atta, and his hijack pilots—as well as to eleven of the other hijackers. In addition, records from the guard house at the gated community tied Atta’s vehicle and his accomplice Ziad Jarrah to actual visits to the house. Although requiring further investigation, this information suggests that the house may have functioned as an operational base for the hijackers.

According to interviews and records examined by The Herald, Anoud and Abdulazzi al-Hiijjii and their young twins abruptly departed their home in Sarasota only days before September 11, 2001 and traveled to Arlington, Virginia, where they stayed briefly at another house owned by Anoud’s father, Esam Ghazzawi.

Then, still well before 9/11, the entire group, now including the father, flew to London and on to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Sarasota house was sold in 2003, as was a penthouse apartment in another DC, suburb, Rosslyn, Virginia. The Ghazzawis do not seem to have set foot again in the United States.

New Revelations

Building on these revelations, WhoWhatWhy has found documents laying out the Ghazzawis’ royal connections through a nest of Saudi corporations that share the name EIRAD. Esam Ghazzawi is director of EIRAD Management Company, the UK division of EIRAD Trading and Contracting Co. Ltd., which among other things holds the Saudi franchise for many multinational brands, including UPS. Esam’s brother Mamdouh, whose name shows up on public records associated with family properties in the U.S., is the Executive Managing Director of the parent firm, EIRAD Holding Co. Ltd. EIRAD has connections to the US government via contracts. In 2008, records show, the State Department paid EIRAD $11,733 for rental of facilities, presumably in Saudi Arabia.

There is no indication that the company itself, or any of its officers or employees, have any connection to the 9/11 incident, or knowledge of anything regarding Mr. Ghazzawi’s activities in the United States. Calls for comment to the company’s main switchboard went unanswered during normal business hours; its website was not functioning properly and Saudi trade officials in the United States had not furnished alternative contact information at publication time.

But the now-revealed link between the Ghazzawis and the highest ranks of the Saudi establishment reopens questions about the White House’s controversial approval for multiple charter flights allowing Saudi nationals to depart the U.S., beginning about 48 hours after the attacks, without the passengers being interviewed by law enforcement—despite the identification of the majority of the hijackers as Saudis.

In addition, the new revelations draw further attention to a web of relationships that include the long and close business, personal and political ties between the Bush family and the Saudi royal family.

Saudi money is woven throughout business ventures connected to the Bushes. Saudi funds even helped bail out George W. Bush’s failing oil company early in his life. Jim Bath, a close friend of Bush in the Texas Air National Guard, went on to start a business in conjunction with two sons of powerful Saudi families—Khalid bin Mahfouz, whose family provides banking services to the Saudi royals, and Salem bin Laden, heir to the bin Laden family’s global construction empire and a half brother to Osama bin Laden. (For a detailed probe of the Bush family’s dealings with the Saudis, including substantial previously unreported material, see my book, Family of Secrets: The Bush Dynasty, America’s Invisible Government and the Hidden History of the Last Fifty Years.)

Details of The Herald’s Revelations

The Ghazzawi presence in the Sunshine State predated 9/11 by at least six years. In 1995 a young Saudi woman named Anoud Ghazzawi living in South Florida married a fellow Saudi native, Abdulazzi al-Hiijjii (English spellings of his first name and surname vary, as is typical of Arabic names.) Anoud’s father, Esam, and his American-born wife Deborah bought the couple a stylish, three-bedroom house in a gated community in Sarasota. The house remained in the elder Ghazzawis’ names while the young couple lived there and began a family.

Six years later, less than two weeks before the 9/11 attacks, Anoud, Abdulazzi and their children left their home on or about August 30, 2001 in great haste, taking off in a white van. This was about the same time that the hijackers were purchasing their tickets for the targeted flights.

The family apparently left with no advance planning, leaving behind almost all their possessions, abandoning three recently registered vehicles, including a brand-new Chrysler PT Cruiser, in the garage and driveway. As the Herald article explained:

“there was mail on the table, dirty diapers in one of the bathrooms … all the toiletries still in place … all their clothes hanging in the closet … opulent furniture, equal or greater in value than the house … the pool running, with toys in it….The beds were made … fruit on the counter … the refrigerator full of food. … It was like they went grocery shopping. Like they went out to a movie … [But] the safe was open in the master bedroom, with nothing in it, not a paper clip. … A computer was still there. A computer plug in another room, and the line still there. Looked like they’d taken [another] computer and left the cord.”

After public disclosure of Saudi involvement in the 9/11 attacks, people in the gated community took note of the rushed departure and disappearance of the Ghazzawi-al-Hiijjiis. After all, the attackers were not just overwhelmingly of Saudi nationality, but three out of four of the future hijackers had lived and trained to fly in Venice, Florida, just 10 miles away from the house.

The complex’s security officer alerted the FBI, which began an investigation into the house at 4224 Escondito Circle. (In addition, a suspicious neighbor alerted the FBI by email on the day of the attacks.)

The Justice Department declined to give the Herald a statement, but, according to an unnamed senior counterterrorism officer who was one of two people who got into the house first and served as a key source for the paper, the investigation bore stunning fruit.

Ziad Jarrah

Phone records showed communication, dating back more than a year, that connected those in the house with the alleged plot leader, Mohammed Atta and his accomplices, including eleven of the other hijackers. Other records, kept by guards at the gated community, documented numerous visits to the house by a vehicle known to have been used by Atta, and indicated the physical presence in the car of Atta’s purported accomplice Ziad Jarrah. It appeared as if the Ghazzawi house was some kind of nerve center for the entire operation.

According to the senior counterterrorism officer, both Esam Ghazzawi and his son-in-law al-Hiijjii had been on a watch list at the FBI predating 9/11. An unnamed U.S. agency tracking terror funds had also taken an interest in them. “464 was Ghazzawi’s number,” the officer said. “I don’t remember the other man’s number.”

Please don't forget about Phillip Marshal and his 2 kids and dog, at least until the Gun Shot Residue report is released.
We owe him that, at least.

Why wasn't this story covered (to my knowledge) by the US media?

Update from the locals:

Investigators closing in on Marshall case
Posted: Friday, March 1, 2013 9:20 am | Updated: 8:39 am, Tue Mar 5, 2013.

If everything falls into place, the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office may soon release a detailed statement about its Philip Marshall investigation.

Marshall, 54, is believed to have fatally shot his two children, Alex, 17, Macaila, 14, and the family dog before turning the gun on himself at his home in Forest Meadows in early February.

Since then, some people have suggested Marshall wasn’t capable of taking the lives of his family, and the incident may have been a triple murder rather than a double murder-suicide.

Sgt. Chris Hewitt with the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office said the team of investigators working on the case is top-notch.

“Everyone should know that our detectives are professional, very experienced and highly trained,” he wrote. “I would put them up against any detective from any other agency any day of the week.”

“Based on the facts and evidence gathered during the investigation, we stand behind our conclusion that Philip Marshall was the shooter,” he continued.

Hewitt said the release he is preparing should answer most of the questions people have about the incident. Detectives are wrapping up the investigation, and once they do Hewitt will send out the release.

The community is also waiting to see the results of a toxicology report, which will reveal whether there were any unusual substances in Philip, Alex or Macaila’s bloodstream.

“I would think we’ll have it any day now,” said Deputy Calaveras County Coroner Steve Moore. “Maybe early next week.”

Today: Obama Administration Says President Can Use Lethal Force Against Americans on US Soil
http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/201...an-use-lethal-force-against-americans-us-soil

Yes, the president does have the authority to use military force against American citizens on US soil—but only in "an extraordinary circumstance," Attorney General Eric Holder said in a letter to Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) Tuesday.

"The U.S. Attorney General's refusal to rule out the possibility of drone strikes on American citizens and on American soil is more than frightening," Paul said Tuesday. "It is an affront the constitutional due process rights of all Americans."

Not suggesting that is the case here, but the question must be asked: If Phillip Marshall had information that threatened the US Government does the President have the authority to assassinate him?

Hopsicker just wrote a really important article about Marshall. This is a must read if you really want to understand how things are "kept under wraps":
http://www.madcowprod.com/2013/02/26/dad-kills-kids-and-self-the-philip-marshall-story/
As usual, Hopsicker is very convincing from his all-american blue collar detective point of view:

I'm not familiar with Hosicker or his work, but I did read what he had to say about this case. I found it a bit lacking, it sounds like he just scanned a few (or maybe 1- the contact from the ex-wife) articles and concluded it's just another case of someone losing it. Marshall was, remember, a highly qualified Captain with ratings in the 727,737,747,757 and 767. I don't know what is involved in getting ratings like that, but I'd suspect a fair amount of psychological testing.

Maybe Hopsicker is right, but the least he could have done is ask for hard evidence before he formed his opinion.
