And Jack Welch's wife looks young enough to be his daughter. I ain't mad at him, just saying. Anyway this shows our demographic battle. We've got the youngsters on board. We need to help them effectively reach their parents and grandparents.

And then he calls for him to quit the race? Dude's senile.

His article on reuters isn't bad. At least he gets that the only way the GOP can win the election is to include Ron Paul in an extremely significant way.

From their Reuters video interview:

Jack: Ron Paul would get four children in our family to support Romney if he came out for him.

Suzy: In a way, you know, Ron Paul supporters are these very young, energized people - we actually have this right at our dining room tables what Jack is saying - and our kids think that he is really their candidate. They love his anti-war stance, and they actually, his age is very appealing to them. They just sort of find his quirkiness to be absolutely, and his authenticity, to be absolutely exciting.

Interviewer: So do you think that if nominee got your column and read it, they'd be able to smooth over this situation and convince your kids to eventually vote for the GOP nominee. Do you think they'll be able to win over those kind of Ron Paul supporters?

Jack: I'm not sure our column will do it, but I hope a smart nominee will do it.

Sorry, Jack. Not a chance in hell.
NOBP!

They didn't accidentally leak it - they're using their kids as an example. From this it sounds like they are relatively die-hard supporters.

Anyway this shows our demographic battle. We've got the youngsters on board. We need to help them effectively reach their parents and grandparents.

That's actually a lot harder than it sounds, at least in my efforts. I'm one of those "young RP supporters" you hear a lot about. My Mom has effectively blocked him from her mind entirely after she heard that he won't send Israel foreign aid, and my Dad is a Santorum supporter who checks drudgereport.

They know I like Ron Paul, but my Mom will now never listen to him... And my Dad tries to appease me by saying that wouldn't mind an RP nomination but thinks he has no chance...

Both my parents are Israeli-born, but the whole family has become naturalized US Citizens and can vote. I doubt my parents will be voting... so it doesn't really matter.

I'm getting to my liberal brother though who has been warming up to Paul. He considers him the least corrupt politician of them all, but has trouble with his stance on evolution and the civil rights act (even though he's starting to understand the property rights argument after hearing Paul say he was in favor of repealing Jim Crow laws). Also he seems to have a huge beef with his country of origin, Israel, for the same reason I'm sure many of you have -- so that also earns my brother's support. As you can tell our family is pretty politically diverse...

My parents will never vote for RP either. They are friends of Mitt Romney. I think I might be able to get them to vote RP if Romney wasn't in the race. They've known the Romneys for decades.

Here are a couple of the folks on GE's Board. Notice anything that would make GE hostile towards Paul? Make them willing to use their social programming media apparatus they own (see above) against Ron?

I remember when Jack got busted by his ex-wife when he left his email account logged-in at home. She found all the chicks Jack was sleeping around with... cost him a pretty penny in the settlement.

I tried to google this.. do you have a source for this? Want to send to a friend who LOVES jack welch and is a romney supporter.

"And what a courtship it has been. Ms. Wetlaufer met Mr. Welch in October 2001, a month after he retired as the head of G.E. She was then editor in chief of the Harvard Business Review ; her intention was to interview Mr. Welch for a cover story. But they became romantically, infamously involved while working on the article. Mr. Welch’s second wife, Jane Beasley Welch, found out about it by reading their e-mails and telephoned the Review to complain. Ms. Wetlaufer lost her job in the ensuing scandal and was portrayed in the press as a promiscuous gold-digger; meanwhile, the details of Mr. Welch’s lavish retirement package were scrutinized as he and his wife haggled over his fortune, estimated to be between $450 million and $900 million. Their divorce was settled on undisclosed terms in July 2003."

I can't find it now, but it was the water cooler talk after my exec VP gave me Jack's "WINNING" book for 2002 XMAS gift.

But it was his second wife(Jane Beasley) that caught him:
His second wife, Jane Beasley, was a former mergers-and-acquisitions lawyer. She married Jack in April 1989, and they divorced in 2003. While Welch had crafted a prenuptial agreement, Beasley insisted on a ten-year time limit to its applicability, and thus she was able to leave the marriage with an amount believed to be in the range of $180 million.[SUP][15][/SUP]
