Forget another Blimp......we need grassroots commercials on TV!!!

I've heard a rumor that another Blimp is being planned. The last one cost 3/4 of a million bucks and was raised by the grassroots for the most part. If we can raise that kind of money for a blimp, why not get all of our best tube producers and start putting together a series of commercials to be aired on major TV stations during prime news programs and hit shows?

Like it or not, if we don't introduce Dr. Paul to the sheeple, he can not and will not win. He just isn't getting the free air time that the other candidates are getting. He is a uniter - he is the only candidate who appeals to democrats and republicans alike - these forums are a classic example of that and we can do commercials that appeal to both sides.

Ads should be 15 and 30 second spots run during prime time on FOX, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, MTV, VH1, BET, and so on! We can make the tubes for free and fund raise to get them on the air! C4L and other orgs. could help with this.

I've been out of the loop for a while due to a family tragedy, so if this idea has already been floated, my apologies. But just think of it..... here are some ideas....

an ad regarding style over substance and run Romney's back peddling against Paul's consistent record.

anti-war, non-interventionism against Obama's war mongering and broken promises to get out of the war and close gitmo, etc.

Paul and sound money, free markets, and the fed run amok vs. Bernanke.

Another blimp is really being planned? I think that's a huge money sink and not worth it, in all honesty. Whatever positive effect it had last time is way smaller this time around because 1) he already has the name recognition, and 2) there's less of a "wow" factor since the same thing was done last time.

The money is better spent elsewhere I think. Commercials are good, but in my opinion we should do local commercials in Iowa, New Hampshire and other early primary states instead of national commercials. It's way cheaper and the focus is exactly where it needs to be. The Ames Straw Poll and early primary states are huge.

id say things about obama no official campaign could. straight truth. call him out on every broken promise, every deception. find every contradiction the man has made and throw them in his face harder than anyone else. this might not do much to spread the message, but it'll earn press and, oddly enough, i really think it would make mainstream repubs view ron as a more serious contender.

Strategy can be hammered out. The point is, there are more sheeple than there are politically informed people. Imo, our job this time around is to market Ron Paul on prime time.

I think the most effective way of getting this done is for someone 'in the industry' to make a video (or get the rights to one existing that relates to 2012) and then start the Chipin as "We want to air THIS video in Iowa, we need $x,xxx to do so, please help."

I think if the videa is good, it will draw in the money easier than just having an open ended concept of airing "a commercial". Make the product then sell it and in that order kind of logic.

Maybe. But, if professionals do it, they have to spend some money to get these things done. So, to say they should do that and then just hope that we will like it on the back end and get their money back, might be asking for quite a lot.

We ran into this last time around. Some nominal amount of funding for the really great commercials, in most cases, was necessary.

The Blimp is a 'been there - done that' project. Time to try a new strategy. I noticed you didn't argue the fact that he can't win without the sheeples' vote. How else do you expect to reach them?
