::::Folding@Home::: Any active Ron Paul teams?

On Folding@home, Ron Paul 2012 team, ID: 182919 is only one worth pumping. Other teams are much smaller, and would
be counter-productive joining more teams and dilute the results.

I meant are there any distributed projects we should tackle other than folding@home? My desktop can crunch yoyo@home more effectively than folding, for instance. Folding can only use one CPU and I don't have a high-end graphics card.

Fah can make use of multicore cpus by using the SMP client. Or if you have two (or more) CPUs on a mobo, you can use more than 1 regular client.

Not sure about other distributed computing projects.

Not that I`m aware of, but having had a look at this yoyo, it`s not what would really help because folding@home is the famous one. Lots of big names and companies are connected to it. Chance to get some headlines would be much higher.

You`re wrong about folding using only one CPU(perhaps this applies to the earlier version). The beta version uses multiple CPU cores, including graphic card. Try the beta version from my signature or one linked in previous posts.

We`ve almost doubled our numbers since 2 days ago. We`re 12 active members now but still small number.

Close to breaking into top 8k. http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=182919

Here
you find more elaborate but bit delayed team stats.

Moving up but we need more people to join. Download the beta client that uses both CPU and GPU(graphic card).

Team name is Ron Paul 2012 - team ID: 182919

You can also use your PS3. Here is how:

How do I get a copy of Folding@home for the PS3?

If you have PS3 system version 1.6 or later, you will see a Folding@home icon in the Network column of the XMB (PS3 menu). Just click on the icon and that's it. If you don't have 1.6 or later, please perform a system upgrade. Note that Folding@home for the PS3 is now included in the "Life With Playstation" application.

P.S: Don`t forget that you can use same user on multiple computers(PCs, Macs even PS3s). I`m running it on 2 computers now and will install it on 3 more under same user.

I just added another video card and quad core cpu using the beta client in post from JuicyG. Works nice, easy to install and use. Thanks JuicyG!
A few days ago I had used one of the old release versions and that was not so easy. Especially when I wanted to run two cores.

got my new rig together and was thinking about getting back into folding if there is a RP team to put points toward.

Anyone know?

Texan if there was a way that the software could be used to crunch distributed Delegates, I would be all in! But no, I've not Folded in years. I used to Seti@Home as well, but I think not much has ever come of that.

If Aliens are communicating, they are not using RF and Lasers over interstellar distances. Folding@Home is a much better use of humanity's computing power.

We just broke top 7k. Lots of highly repped forum members haven`t joined us yet. If you talk the talk come and walk the walk. Come and support this team. There are only 13 active users. We should be able to get few hundreds with ease. http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main.py?qtype=teampage&teamnum=182919

I have my primary computer set up to run the Beta Client, so it's running my Radeon 6900 Series GPU and my i5-2500k CPU on separate projects. I've also got one PS3 and one laptop running as well!

Cool. We`ve made it into top 6k with only 15 active users. Team Ranking (incl. aggregate) 5566 of 209565

I remember participating in something similar way back in the 90's called SETI (search for extraterrestrial intelligence) that mapped out unexplored regions of space.

You just made me feel so old LOL!! Thanks for your post though, I would have had no clue what this was about without your reference. :) They still do that btw! I may have to rejoin just for the retro factor once this one is over.
