I was just in Reno, Nevada going door-to-door, and several people said they were deciding between Gingrich and Paul. That might sound strange, but their thought process makes some sense. They don't like Santorum because he's too extreme Catholic, and they just don't like Romney. So it's just 2 people left.

So when you reach out to these traditional Republican voters, agree with them that the country is in trouble, and we need to work together to get Obama out of office.

However, Gingrich won't be able to do that because he can't get the Independents who are needed to win the general election. In fact in swing states, Gingrich is trailing Obama by 14 points. In those same states, Ron Paul is trailing only by 7 points. And if we focus on just Independent voters, Ron Paul is the only candidate who beats Obama in some national polls.

Again repeat that we need to nominate someone who can beat Obama, and Ron Paul will have a much better chance than Gingrich.

Close by asking the person to vote for Ron Paul so we can get rid of Obama and fix our economy.

What kind of responses did you get after revealing that info to them?

I think between the lack of Independent appeal and the states he isn't on the ballot, those should be enough to convince people that he is unelectable versus Ron Paul.

From the canvassing I've done in Iowa and Nevada, I've found that voters who are undecided a week before like to stay undecided until they actually vote. So even after telling them the information, they'll say they're still deciding.

But the main thing about face-to-face conversations is that hopefully they get a good impression on Ron Paul and keep that in mind when casting their vote. They'll remember what you said about electability and hopefully vote for Ron Paul.

Even for the people supporting Romney, they said they appreciated that I was going door-to-door for Ron Paul, and they wished me good luck. These people said that they would happily vote for Ron Paul in the general election if he won the nomination.

Great work out there! Have you directed them toward RCP averages and/or considered printing it in a spreadsheet format?

Newt has a 60 percent unfavorable. He is not electable nationally. Plus Newt just offers more of the same as Obama - more spending, more wars, more welfare, more debt, a bigger police state and the destruction of the Bill of Rights.

Point out, further, that Gingrich's absence from the ballot in certain states essentially precludes him from actually securing the nomination.

But how many delegates is Gingrich really out of? If you're talking about Virginia, that's at most 46 delegates.

Very good analysis. 100% agree. If campaign goes all out on electability (#1 Issue isn't it?) on Gingrich vs Ron Paul, it can make a huge impact.

Endorse Liberty has videos about blowback and military donations, so hopefully they'll have one for electability. Both Endorse Liberty and RevolutionPAC are running ads interspersed through Liberty related programming, so maybe they can put in something there.
