'It’s about five weeks ahead of the average flu season,' said Lyn Finelli, lead of the surveillance and response team that monitors influenza for the CDC’s National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases. 'We haven’t seen such an early season since 2003 to 2004.'

How many here that were sick were actually tested for the flu? Influenza is debilitating. It puts you down hard. Stiff muscles, sore EVERYTHING, plus fever, horrible headache and other issues. I'm not saying anyone here didn't have it really, but it's really common for people to say they have the flu when they actually don't. If you are able to get out of bed without passing out, it's probably not the flu.
Also, no such thing as "stomach flu". This is usually rotovirus, but there is no strain of influenza that only affects the stomach.
