Flashback: Santorum v Ron Paul on 2d amendment in South Carolina debate

"Tort law should be a state function", like most everything else.

Was just having this discussion with someone regarding medical malpractice.

Now you see gun owners absolutely livid at the notion of a Congress critter voting for universal background checks. Yet Santorum got applause for it barely a year ago. Fucking bizarre.

I attended two SC debates (not this one though) and noticed some very interesting things about how debates are set up. The audience in the floor seats in front is STACKED with establishment types that pay something like $1000 for a seat near the cameras and microphones. In all probability, those seats are "donated" by the state GOPs to establishment types but I don't know that for sure. All of us Paulites that paid for general admission were given seats in the farthest reaches of the debate halls, along with other rank-and-file grassroots Republicans. Watch debate footage from any debate and you'll see how they ONLY show crowd response from those sitting in the high dollar seats in front while giving no camera time to those sitting in the far seats. They also put the live mics near the high dollar seats to capture establishment reaction while minimizing grassroots reaction. Most here already know that debates are scripted but it's painfully obvious when you see how hard the media outlets and GOP establishment work to ensure the results of the debate are what they want. It's propaganda from top to bottom.
