Florida fifth grader arrested after threatening a mass shooting, police say.

A fifth grade student in Florida was arrested over the weekend after allegedly threatening to carry out a mass shooting in a text message, authorities said.

In a statement Saturday, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said it had learned earlier that day of a "threatening text message" sent by a student at an elementary school.

It said its local school threat enforcement team was immediately notified and started investigating. The 10-year-old boy was interviewed and later charged with "making a written threat to conduct a mass shooting," the sheriff's office said.

In video shared by authorities, the boy can be seen being led into a police vehicle.

“This student’s behavior is sickening, especially after the recent tragedy in Uvalde, Texas,” Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno said in a statement, noting that the threat came just days after the deadly school shooting at Robb Elementary School left 19 students and two teachers dead.

“Right now is not the time to act like a little delinquent. It’s not funny,” he said. “This child made a fake threat, and now he’s experiencing real consequences.”

Well, her 10 year-old son just got sent home from his private school last week because he drew a picture of his classmates all bloodied and dead. Right after the Uvalde tragedy. This isn't his first incident. He throws violent fits in school when things aren't going his way. She asked my wife for any help in coping with her son - she's becoming afraid that he'll end up doing something really bad.

Some additional details: Her son was conceived via a sperm donor (because, who would ever get into a relationship with her?!) so she doesn't know anything about the father but a number and some inconsequential demographic info. Her son's teacher is a Trans who uses "they/them" pronouns. She's been a professor for years, but has a mountain of student debt that she refuses to pay off because she's hoping for "student loan forgiveness". She grew up Mennonite, but is now an avowed atheist (really, she's a wokist, she just doesn't know it). She's a big admirer of Karl Marx, and unlike most Marxists, she's actually read his writings. In her mind, Marx explained how the world works. Her son has been given a steady dose of wokism for all of his 10 years.

And finally now she's wondering what she can do???! First things, first, she needs to stop abusing her child! He plays with my son quite a bit and has NEVER displayed any of that behavior in our presence. He knows he can't get away with that stuff here. And my son certainly wouldn't tolerate it from a friend. But my wife still isn't putting it all together. This kid's life is F'd up! His mother is a nut case! The best thing we can do is to get away from her - because she's never going to change.

If I were you, I'd keep your son as far away from that shit as you can. It has an influence.

A good read for the conversation going on here. I'm at the point where I want almost all artificial insemination and these blind sperm donor things to be eradicated. They are unnatural and can create chaotic environments. And all because lesbians want to play God and have their own "natural" child despite being unnatural themselves.

Did anyone bother to check if this kid had the means and access to go forward with the threats? Or more importantly find out wht he was making them? It could very well be nothing or the kid could be acting out for attention. When I think back to me and my friends in 5th grade we would have been arrested over and over for saying inappropriate things. If the kid was seriously troubled, mental health treatment is what he needed not arrest. Now his future is potnetially ruined.

Oh I'm sure the kid is attention starved. But that seems to be a common trait with most of these mass shooters. The media may be fueling the shootings by immortalizing the shooters. The kid belongs in an alternative school IMO. This might also be effective.
