First Tattoo idea?

The only liberty tattoo I would get would be a amagi cunieform. It is the earliest known form of the expression of liberty.

I like it! If my wife wasn't deathly afraid of snakes, I would contemplate getting one too ;)

Many people look down on those with tattoos. I think they are trashy.

A more practical reason not to is, it's what the government can use to identify you easily.

60 year old Ross, let alone 40 year old Ross, may be happier if you choose zero tattoos.

I spent around $100 dollars to get a tattoo. I've spent around a $1000 dollars and 4 treatments on removal and the tattoo is still slightly visible. Oh yeah I have another tatto I want gone. So I would say don't get a tattoo unless it is something "cool."

Be sure to take your physical fitness and career aspirations into account. As unfair as it is I think physically fit folks are the only ones who can pull off upper arm tattoos without them looking sloppy and grungy. If you aren't physically fit get it somewhere more discreet or, if you want people to see it try a wrist or forearm tattoo. Regarding the career thing if you have white collar aspirations neck tattoos are out, hand tattoos are out and you will always have to wear a long sleeved shirt when you want to look professional if you get anything on your arms.
