Hello everyone in Michigan,

This is both a bit of encouragement and advice. 9 out of the 11 Democrats I have talked to told me they would be voting for Ron Paul in Michigan. One of them is a fairly high level Hillary Clinton staffer!

We're targeting Democrats in Ann Arbor with specific flyers. I encourage everyone else to do the same across the state.

im telling you guys.

hammer home the war message and get those dems.

that's why im here.

Be sure to remind them their votes don't count.

I think the DNC would seriously change their tune about the delegates matter if every Democrat voted Republican in Michigan.

This might be fine for some but I think the best thing to use is the economy in Michigan- went there to canvas and they have money issues there

Seriously, hammer it home.

The Dems don't care about your say. So vote for a real anti-war candidate instead.

Michigan might be interesting. One neighborhood, tout Pauls Pro-Life, No-Taxes stances. The next, his anti-drug war, anti-Iraq war positions will help.

Yes. If you are talking to democrats, you MUST pound away at the anti-war issue and civil rights (Patriot Act and MCA 2006, etc.). Ask them how good would it be to have an election between two anti war candidates (Assuming they're anti-war but still like their democratic candidate better). Either way the war will end. Ron Paul is the only anti-war republican. Mention how many people have died in the war, and how much it costs.

Hell, maybe they'll realize that Ron Paul has a better foreign policy stance than any democrat and end up voting for him in the general election.

I had spoken to some linemen from the Electric Co-Op, The union was pushing the Dems. They liked Ron Paul's message. I gave them a bunch of lit.
NAFTA is known to be bad for Michigan, another strong point.
The UP votes Republican as a whole, but we are the overlooked and ignored part of the state.
I am remaining optimistic.

Remind them pelosi is connected to the torture tapes and took impeachment off the table.
That speaker reid is very pro abortion.

and that they sold us out on the war.

I'd like to see a copy of those flyers as well. imo, we need to pitch hard to Ds in both MI and WA.

I think there are a lot of Arab-Americans/Muslims living in Michigan. I think they would like Ron Paul a lot over Romney/Huckabee/Rudy/McCain.

Democrats don't have delegates so getting them to vote for Ron Paul can seriously rock the vote in Ron Paul's favor.

Michigan could be huge for Ron Paul if this can happen.

I live in Michigan. It's an odd state. Take for example my dad. He is a member of the United Steelworkers union, and I've convinced him to vote for Ron Paul. He was VERY receptive to the anti-nafta radio advertisement. However, he said his union endorsed John Edwards and that the people he works with don't realize what's going on and they don't realize they can't vote for Edwards. I've personally converted a whole lot of people but I wouldn't expect a top 3. I'm just being realistic.

You need to convince your dad to tell all his fellow members that they should use this as a opportunity to send a message to everyone that Michigan wants to be counted.

Ron Paul is a perfect match because he was shafted by FOX and now Michigan was shafted. Ron Paul is Anti-war and Edwards is anti-war.

Just mention it to your dad and maybe he can get the word passed around as quick as possible. ;)

I think this is a great idea. I wish more attention were paid to the Dems in NH. When people tell me they are indepedent it usually means they are more likely to vote Democrat but wouldn't rule out a Republican canidate.

Start looking for forums where you can spread the word. This has to be done delicately. We don't want to offend Michigan democrats by spamming their forums, but you can contribute to their conversations and make good points by bringing up Dr. Paul's economic views, and his stance on the war and spending. I'm searching for Michigan forums now where I can try and convince Democratic voters to not pass up the primary but rather help a republican that would be the "next best thing" for their party to be up against. I'd even make comparisons to how we probably wouldn't beat an Obama or Hillary but if Dr. Paul did win it would be better than "100 Years War" McCain.

I personally think Dems in Michigan could be big for Ron Paul. most of my family and friends I know are Democrats or Independents and they are now switching to Ron Paul. As I see it the toughest thing we are up against is time it takes in switching these people.
Economy.
Big Media.
War.
Are conversations i run into with people around my area.

Yep it's time converting but we have so many people here that could do it and I have been trying to get the people in the NH forum to discuss Michigan but I can't get them to get off of NH.

Watch...After Michigan next Tuesday you will see 600+ in the Michigan forum complaining WHY Ron Paul finished so low.

They didn't leave the Iowa forum until after NH was a lost cause

We just keep our head up here in Michigan. I can tell you that despite only getting 10 percent or so in NH and Iowa all the RP supporters i know are still fired up and hitting the streets this weekend. Hell i'm even going to wear my RP shirt when I DJ this weekend downtown.
