Sounds like second, but REALLY far back.

I agree completely.

Poll taxes are bs... taxes are bs. However our current system sucks. Here is one idea I thought about that would end a lot of corruption in my opinion. Have a political draft. When your number gets pulled, you have to serve. "you might get a lunatic in office" you might say. Well to fix this if say 80% of the drafted representatives voted to say "this person is definitely not fit to serve" then they would be impeached.

I haven't thought through all the problems with this idea, I just sit around sometimes thinking how to fix what was obviously wrong with how our founding fathers system led us to where we are today and this idea popped into my head.

I'll say this now to let it sink in: POLL TAX!

It is a voluntary tax and could be non-trivial to help fund the govnerment. Reduce the influence of people who

a) don't care
b) don't research the candidates
c) make superficial choices
d) don't pay taxes

I don't care about the negative history of the tax, if it applies to all equally, it should be legit. I would start it at $100.

I'm pretty sure it costs $25 dollars at the Nevada caucus, it goes to the party though.

I'm from Great Britain here, and whatever the results and eventual outcome - i'm behind you lot running as an independent.

The chances are slim of a win obviously, but you have to fight the system because sometimes, just sometimes - the crack appears.

....I don't think anyone thought Ron was gonna win.

We're disappointed because the numbers are pointing toward another disappointing 3rd and another win for the media.

I don't see it and I don't trust the media to report accurately anyway. They'd love to disenfranchise potential RP voters that haven't cast a NH ballot yet.

Does that mean Huntsman is in 3rd?

Half decided within the last few days. It's all over.

And the other half didn't decide within the last few days.

I assume that Romney will win.

If Ron Paul does 8 points better than Huntsman with people who decided more than a few days ago, we're in second. And I would assume that is the case.

We're beating Styrofoamman with Independents, and Ron Paul has done better than Big Mac with Republicans. Again, pointing to finishing better than Big Mac.

Not quite. The campaign needs to vet who they invite to Iowa to campaign for them. Your defeatist attitude is toxic in that environment.

I actually had one of the highest conversion rates per phone call out of all the workers. After i put in 12-hour days making phone calls and going door to door for Ron, I'd like to ask you to keep your opinions to yourself.

Ron is at 29% with 44% of the vote (Ind) leaving 56% Republican voters left. Ron would have to poll less than 15% or so of Republicans to get bumped out of the 20% range for a final number. Maybe someone can back me up with this?
