Final Zogby IA poll - Paul jumps to 9%

it seems like all the pollsters are covering there tracks here at the last minute trying to not look like fools when Ron demolishes all of their polls.

i like how Giuiliani is still listed ahead of him even though its supposed to be in descending order.

good theory...a good showing over 9% by Dr Paul will be proof positive to the uninitiated that polls are nonsense...you and I already know that - now its time for joe sixpack to wake up...not into predictions, but a 3 place finish would be a serious blow to the contention by the msm that he is not a top tier candidate...irregardless of money raised...

The polls don't mean shit. I can't figure out why people still follow them. We had so many articles in the last couple of days say that polls might be missing Ron's real support, we had numerous recordings show that they might be biased and/or rigged, we had Obama say that they don't poll Ron.

The only fucking reason media is still using them although I'm sure they know how inaccurate they really are is because people still believe in them.

Stop quoting/mentioning/following/arguing polls and just blatantly dismiss them. Just say fuck you Frank and say the polls are BS.

If i somehow didn't get my point across please watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=If9EWDB_zK4

Oh comon, can you conspiracy theorists make up your mind? I thought he polled low because of WHO They were polling, not because the polls are fixed.

What the fuck does it matter? They are inaccurate and you should dismiss them.

im not even a conspiracy theorist, but if the fact that the media and its hired polling agencies is biased against RP is a conspiracy, then im a raving fucking tin foil laden nut.

Polls still matter.

They still ask REAL people question and you do get results out of it.

It's true that the pollsters try to show what they think should be seen. You can skew polls in favor of something. However, if they are properly recording the answers, that cannot upend the field. There is no way that Kucinich would ever top a Democrat poll, no matter how you spin the question.

Internal polling numbers are what's important. I'm not entirely sure that the Paul campaign has got some, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. These internal polling numbers can be done with all fairness and truth without skew so that the campaign doesn't fool itself. That's how you get a true sense of it.

But, for the grassroots, we have media polling. And, while these polls are skewed, they are not baseless. There is some truth to them and I'd say that its pretty close to fact that, in Iowa, Huckabee and Romney are going to go 1-2 (no particular order there). You can also see that there is a virtual four-way tie for third place. That's what those poll numbers can tell you.

After you get that general sense, you can analyze. Huckabee is likely going to win because he has the Al Sharpton vote in Iowa. That vote is particularly energized and has a high percentage of voter turnout for the caucus.

For third place, it's between Paul and McCain. McCain's resurgence may win him some of the normal caucus goers while Paul's supporters are particularly dedicated.

If we get 3rd, we become a serious player for the NH primary. Win the NH primary and Paul is all of the sudden a top contender that has a showdown with Huckabee in SC.

It is not that they are inaccurate (which they are), it is that they will poll RP low because of who they poll. So a rise in the polls by RP mean that in the limited scope which they poll RP has gained. So it is inaccurate but among the group polled "likely Repub voters" he is increasing. I believe RP has tremendous "not likely Repub voters". So if you take the poll numbers and add the others, it is good that RP is polling higher, although they aren't accurate.

I dont know about you...

Didn't you raise over $500 from a chipin here? Looking at your posting history it seems like all the threads you have made in the last month have been about donating money for you to go to NH on january first.... and now you appear to not be there. Are you returning the money??

Ron Paul will get at least 15% of the vote. I am actually hoping that Thompson edges out McCain. We need McCain to fail in Iowa.

Uh, we're flying out Friday morning. Hope that helps? (And once again, the pathetic head in the sand people on here lash out instead of using their critical thinking skills)

Oh how conveeeeeenient. He's at 9% - can't have him at double digits now can we...

The pollsters are making sure he's high enough they don't look like fools, but low enough their media buddies can still claim he doesn't have a REAL chance. (and therefore shouldn't be in debates, etc)

.
