It probably is. It has been a hot topic on Twitter and I'm not seeing much help from people to suggest otherwise on his position. A lot of negativity toward Paul for the FEMA statement. It's been pretty frustrating.

The FEMA is good argument is likely to backfire on the big government guys because FEMA is not an efficient organization. As Dr. Paul says, "The economy is going to be a lot bigger issue next year than it is now because the economic problems are not being addressed." However, time will tell.

FEMA's an easy-peasy argument to refute. Goggle is your friend. Most people that have been 'helped' by FEMA resemble those 'helped' by wrong-address no-knock raids. There are story after story about FEMA blocking aid for Katrina victims, blowing millions of dollars, and basically acting like jerks.

Ask people who built their homes behind 'FedGov-approved' levees if Ron Paul is wrong.

Everybody did hear that a federal court ruled the flooding was the result of negligence on the part of the US Corps of Engineers, right?

Ask people forced out of toxic FEMA trailers after Katrina if Ron Paul is wrong.

Ask emergency crews and drivers of emergency supplies who were prevented from delivering their assistance where it was needed if Ron Paul is wrong.

Ask taxpayers who financed the quarter-million in FEMA 'fun money' and the $13 million blown after the trailer sales if Ron Paul is wrong.

Don't take my word for it. See what NBC and ABC had to say. There are even learned studies about what a disaster the 'disaster assistance' was.

Has everybody forgotten Michael "Heckofa Job" Brown and the bangup performance taxpayers got for their money?

Now go dig out a few stories from several years later, and see how people got their toehold in the city reestablished, who helped and who hindered that process.

Cries of "Emergency!! Do something, even if it's wrong!!" generally deliver exactly what's called for. Something wrong. But hey, at least
it's something!

Nice opportunity to ask him about the FEMA camps.I'm not too worried.Ron seems to know how to handle these setups quite well.They can accuse or infer that he's heartless but I can't see him saying anything that they can spin to overcome his obvious kindly nature.If they could actually get him angry,I'd be worried but it won't happen.

EDIT: They might even try to push for him to comment on the FEMA camps and then say he was concerned about conspiratorial nonsense while lives are at risk.Again,I can't see him falling for it.

Yes, WE understand how easy it is to argue against FEMA.. But to 90% of America, the message they take away is "Ron Paul would let hurricane victims fend for themselves".

It's like we find ourselves in a catch-22.. Unless a large portion of the population understands our views, there will always be tremendous backlash.. but in order to get our message out, our message needs to have enough legs to take off. I'm optimistic, however.

Ron's position on this issue will go over better with GOP voters than his position on Iran or foreign policy issues in general. The more Ron can keep focused on economic issues, the better he'll do in the polls.
