I recall I tried to bring that up a few times, way back, and got shouted down for being a nattering nabob of negativity.

My gut says you're right, but like the Founders did, I think we still need to exhaust every peaceful and legal method available to us.

A day will come when it will be obvious to everyone that there are no peaceful, legal methods that make a bit of difference. That day is fast approaching, but it is not today.

It was our relentless public pressure that forced them to cosponsor the bill in the first place. Now it's time to double-down and instigate the largest "once per day, every day" contact campaign in american histor.

Alert your entire network to alert their entire network to alert their entire network, that every american needs to call, e-mail, fax, and snail-mail once per day every day demanding:

1) reject mel watt's markup modifications to hr1207, and

2) vote yes on ron paul's amendment to restore the original text of hr1207

if we can get 2 million people to use every form of contact (telephone, e-mail, snail mail, and fax) once per day every single weekday from monday through until the bill passes, then we will overwhelm them with more than 4 times the pressure that got them to cosponsor the bill in the first place.

We have 59 and a half hours to light up our networks and extended networks nationwide and start the contact campaign on monday.

Letter I just sent to my congressman:

Dear Congressman x,

It has come to my attention that Congressman Mel Watt, chairman of the domestic monetary policy and technology subcommittee, has attached HR 1207 (the bill to audit the Federal Reserve) to a larger finance bill and in so doing he has made changes to HR 1207. According to Congressman Ron Paul, author of HR 1207, Mr. Watt has "gutted" his bill.

As a co-sponsor of HR 1207, I hope you will find this action as unacceptable as I do. Anything less than a full and complete audit of the Federal Reserve will not make a bit of difference.

I understand Congressman Paul is drafting an amendment to the larger bill which will restore the language "gutted" by Congressman Watt.

It is my hope that you will continue to support a full and complete audit of the Federal Reserve as originally intended when you become a co-sponsor and as 75% of the American people want.

I urge you to:

1. Reject the Mel Watt markup and changes to HR1207

2. Vote “YES” on the Ron Paul amendment to restore the original text of HR1207

Last month my silver broker and his wife were raided and arrested by SWAT style federal marshals at the behest of the IRS over a 14 year old case that involved the teaching and selling of Irwin Schiff's book.

They are being held incommunicado on a half a million dollars bail.

Everything they own that could be used to mount any type of legal defense has been seized.

They have, in short, become "unpeople": political prisoners with no voice, no bail, no redress but in a kangaroo court, that will ultimately send them up the river for the rest of their lives.

All for exercising the right to freely assemble and exercise free speech.
