Fascism On The Rise in Austria

Fascism is a form of socialism (well there's only one form really but a few ways you can spin it). Fascists are socialists. The "far right" being fascist is only a ploy to get the world to think that anyone promoting less government is a fascist.

Right, but the guys they interviewed were promoting the return of Nazism, which is pretty much the last thing we need right now.
 
Maybe Arnold should move back. He can live out his dream of being a powerful dictator. Well, I guess if he sticks around the U.S. long enough, he might get a chance to live that dream out here.
 
This people at least are honest and say what they want. Socialist usually prefer to lie. Not that I want any of both, but at least they are honest.
 
I have a friend that works in Austria as a teacher. He told me the way they talk they talk about jewish people and immigrants would make the hair on your neck stand up.

Austria is a busted flush. Their banks have loaned over 70% of the countries GDP to Eastern and Central Europeans. Those countries are dire. If they even fail to pay back Austria 10% of what they owe, then Austria will collapse. The fascists will offer a solution and the people will fall for it hook, line and sinker.

When the majority of europe falls to pieces, don't be surprised to see fascism, nazism and communism coming back.

Very sad. It sounds like Austria is in for very dark times. Austria is surely going to have issues with its CEE loans, and I think the suppression of free speech there will further isolate certain individuals and groups, and make them more dangerous.

To me it seems to be a battle between the socialist left (in power to some degree), and the fascist right. Clearly policy has been fast and loose, and their economy is on the brink. If the fascists rise to power, it will only serve to isolate their small economy from the rest of the world.

It's going to be a long, hard slog for Freedom in Austria.

This article contains as much truth as a fox-story during the primaries about Ron Paul. Sensationalism. The politics of Strache and the dead Haider are closer to Ron Paul than you might think by reading dailymail-propaganda. Surely it has nothing to do with socialism. They promote Austrian-sovereignity, closed borders, no handouts, no EU.

You want to see how the oficial media in Spain talks about conservative america. Basically Texas is full of religious nuts, psicopath guns lovers, ignorant racist people. I dont really know about Austria, but I would not believe everything without double checking.

Socialism is on the rise world wide. Even here. Though is has many sub groups it is all the same basic form of collectivism.
There is fascism in several countries to varying degrees, even here.
Rather than fight and rail on all the sub groups, I try to concentrate on promoting Individualism.

Aside from the sentiment, which is something that I do see as a problem (recession being a catalyst for far-right nationalist recruitment), I would raise a point similar to what paulim said - the daily mail itself is a far-right tabloid newspaper as far as I'm concerned, sensationalism&fear, incorporated...I think the article itself was swinging between: Far-right gaining popularity = good; and also neo-nazis and shit! = scare readers...and boy do they love trying to scare people.

I've seen the daily mail used as a source dozens of times here usually nothing too wrong with it, but you must know the daily mail is always in the business of sensationalism and scaring readers, so I'd advise not using them at all as a source, if the story is news-worthy then there will be other sources to use instead of the daily mail. :)
