===>:::::Face the Nation Thread:::::<===

he is so freaking humble it blows me away. How can you not trust this man?

He is humble and that's why I think he says what he says when asked if he thinks he can win. He says that there's a better chance now of him winning than there was months ago, and that's true.

He doesn't come out and say yes I will win, but the things he does say are truth and cannot be later looked at as bad against him.

Important Things To Note:
1. Interviewer may not be an idiot himself, but posing questions the lesser intelligent Americans may be asking. (this includes the "can you really win" ... which he also asked Huck)
2. Interview time for Paul was *double* interview time for Huck.
3. Huck cracked jokes, with an issue here and there. Paul discussed serious issues, with historical backup. I want someone intelligent in office, not someone who makes me laugh.

He doesn't come out and say yes I will win, but the things he does say are truth and cannot be later looked at as bad against him.

I'm not asking him to say "I will win" ... just want him to say "I can win". I think it would go a long way to getting people to at least say, "hey, I should learn more about this guy".

As someone who's studies body language, I have to point out that the Huckster was lying through the later part of his interview when he talked about lowering taxes, etc. -- did anyone notice how much he started blinking through that part and shifting his eyes away? Clear indications of LYING! This was also whenn he was talking about having to upgrade their servers three times!!

Also, he took a direct shot at Dr. Paul with that comment about leaving issues to the states being responsible for slavery in an effort to try and derail what he knew Dr. Paul was going to say!! Thing is, Lincoln was Constitutionally wrong by forcing the southern states to remain in the Union (even thought the war was more about taxation and tariffs than it was slavery - but that's a subject for another forum, I guess).

Dr. Paul absolutely OWNED doofus on the anti-everything segment when he ponited out that if you're anti- something then, you must be pro- something else!!

Once again the good Doctor wins with common sense and logic!! He's getting MUCH better at conveying his ideas in segmented sound-bites!!

We can hire Huckabee to be the clown at Paul's inauguration.

Note: Yes, I know I shouldn't say this, but I can't help it. :)

Couple mistakes -

1. Forgot Lyman's name
2. Did not clarify his "anti-medicare" stance
3. Did not affirmatively state that he will win.
4. Did not state the tea party fundraiser is Dec 16 though he did say boston tea party is the new gimmick.

Overall very positive.

Yeah I'm worried about the older audience thinking he may take away their checks. Overall a good interview.

I am a bit worried about him not clarifying the anti-medicare comment. But, overall, he did GREAT!!! :)

We need to get Dr. Paul to believe he WILL win!!!!

No. This approach is perfect. Humble.

He knows he can win. He is an excellent politician and very wise. By playing this the way he plays it he has a better chance of winning.

It shows that he is realistic.

And, it is brilliant reverse psychology. Americans love the underdog. This guy is the ultimate underdog.

Don't change Dr. Paul. It is a long shot, but the ideas will win and so will you!

I thought the interview was really good.

It's so interesting how foreign Ron Paul's views seem to the talking heads. Bob Sheiffer seemed more curious and inquisitive than anything, however.

I agree, not getting to clarify the doing away with Medicare statement might hurt him with the age group that typically tunes in to the show but, since he didn't get asked about those anti-things in a point-by-point way, he did the best he could with the time alloted, I think.
