These two facts go hand in hand. Viruses in the wild that are easily transmissible from animals to humans usually aren't deadly (i.e. cowpox) and viruses in animals that are very deadly to humans usually aren't that transmissible (i.e. bird flu). The fact that this was an easily transmissble and deadly virus points to it being bioengineered. And Trump was initially going along with Fauci when BOTH were downplaying the seriousness about COVID Trump was working with the very same people you think he was working against.
