Eric Cantor to lose primary? [Update: Cantor Loses!!]

So how does this work? Pick a theme and a date and let it happen organically?

I vote for "Irrelevant Washington" as the theme and Independence Day weekend for the date(s).

I'm saving my nickels now.

no it does not happen organically and thats the mistake people keep on making, it takes at least two months of promotion and telling 20 times the people you hope will donate to achieve a successful moneybomb with 100s promoting

YEEEEEEEHAAAAAAW!

I'M SO DAMN HAPPY THAT MY DISTRICT VOTED THE SCUMBAG CANTOR OUT!

VOTED AT FOUR PM TODAY FOR MY MAN DAVE BRAT I'VE GOT THE BIGGEST SMILE ON MY FACE!

HELL YES!

Finally, I read something on this forum that makes me happy for once!

This is great stuff. The establishment is totally freaking out...

I'm on phone now w/ Peter King of NY, who says he wonders if the party is crumbling on the whole

The key takeaway there is "of NY." I've read about the broken bones, the walk-outs, and other difficulties around the country, but things work a bit differently here in Virginia. I'm not saying that tea party/liberty folks and establishment/old-guard folks are always walking hand-in-hand down the street, but we're finding our way and not crumbling as a party here in Virginia. I would characterize RPV challenges as "growing pains."

Guys, Can you comprehend what kind of edge this gives Tom McMillin up here in MI? Amash is probably doing shots right now.

I don't know either, but I'm in for this one.

This is seriously amazing--and I had no idea it was even a possibility!

!!!!!!!!!!
By all metrics, it wasn't a possibility. The national groups didn't camp out in this district AFAIK. That's what makes this so huge. :D

I just wish it wasn't over the immigration issue :(

Dave Brat Talks Big Victory on Hannity: 'It's a Miracle'

ETA: Brat makes a reference to the Republican party creed here in Virginia. For those that are not familiar with it:

We Believe:

That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice,

That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society,

That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government,

That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations,

That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense,

That faith in God, as recognized by our Founding Fathers is essential to the
moral fiber of the Nation.

Just four days ago you can see from the comments here that few people thought it was a realistic possibility, even after the last poll showed Cantor at only 40% support.

Let's use words that ring true, and call it an invasion issue, because that's what it is. Being libertarian doesn't mean being dimwitted enough to open the gates for barbarians to overrun the country.

If you all want to debate that issue, do it on another thread please. This is the hell-yeah-historic-victory thread.

Point is, cozying up to the two folks that people here like won't do him any favors to the rest of the folks he has to work with. He ran for Congress, not Congressman of RonPaulForums.

Doesn't matter. If he actually pushes the policies he claims, he will be just as alienated as if he wore a Ron Paul mask around Congress. He may as well seek out allies up front.
