Eric Cantor to lose primary? [Update: Cantor Loses!!]

The only Jewish-Republican who was leader of GOP House has been taken out by Tea Party?

This is big shock and spells bad news for US tax payers aid to blowback cntributing foreign welfare states living on US tax payers handouts.

Cantor: Take Israel out of foreign aid

WASHINGTON (JTA) — A Republican Congress would seek to remove funding for Israel from the foreign operations budget, a GOP leader said. U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor, the Republican whip and the only Jewish Republican in the House of Representatives, told JTA that a GOP-led House would seek to defund nations that do not share U.S. interests, even if it meant rejecting the president’s foreign operations budget.
Cantor, of Virginia, said he wants to protect funding for Israel should that situation arise.
"Part of the dilemma is that Israel has been put in the overall foreign aid looping," he said when asked about the increasing tendency of Republicans in recent years to vote against foreign operations appropriations. "I’m hoping we can see some kind of separation in terms of tax dollars going to Israel."

Disgraced SWC dronegangsta's Droneking's kiss of death..it seems.

Ok, this gives us a good opportunity, but now we have to support this guy. I don't know much about him, but if he loses in the general it will be bad news. We have got to make him win!

This ^^^ We have work to do. This guy may have just became priority number one for liberty this election. If he loses then its back to "you can't win" for all liberty candidates. We have to set the record straight, that liberty can and will always prevail;.

What I want to know is how I have never heard of Dave Brat before today. Not even on RPF. He's not even listed in the Liberty Candidates for Congress thread! And he beats Cantor?

I keep my ear to the ground yet have never heard of him until today and he ran in a neighboring state. Wow. Gotta ponder this one. His grassroots door-to-door strategy apparently won.

This is the part that stuns me (along with almost everyone) What can we learn from this though? This guy ran a small campaign and kept it local. What ese though/ there has to be more to the story. Were the commercials? debates? anything? Did door-to-door seriously do it? What did his literature look like?

Can anyone give me a quick summary of reasons why Cantor needed to go? I don't seem to remember anything specific about him.

Will he run as an Independent though (a la Lieberman)?

I think VA has a "sore loser law" that prohibits a losing primary candidate from being on the election ballot. So he can't pull that shit; but as a write-in candidate? Possibly. I don't know.

We hadn't heard of him because we haven't tried hard enough to build or maintain our alliances with grassroots un-aligned Tea Party people, who clearly are still out there, and want to primary most of the same guys we want out of office. Have we bought into the MSM's narrative that the Tea Party was finished, or too co-opted to be salvaged?

Time to re-program ourselves. Think, let's locally forge a coalition of CFL, LP, CP and TP forces wherever we can, and stay in touch with each other as an activist base or voting bloc. Then let's win some primaries and elections!

Supposedly he spent a fraction of what Cantor spent but was able to get some free press from people like Laura Ingraham and Beck.

Spoken like a true politician.

Hey Matt, are you still sure that direct mail and treating every state the same, f retail politics, is the winning strategy?? This thread here is DEFINITELY worth the read.

I think it matters that Laura Ingraham, Ann Coulter, and Mark Levin were behind him. Also, people in general, don't want immigration reform a la amnesty.

This is great stuff. The establishment is totally freaking out...

I'm on phone now w/ Peter King of NY, who says he wonders if the party is crumbling on the whole

Peter King to Post: “I don’t know where we go now as a party. I’m very concerned that we may go all the way to the right."

Hysterical. So, TEA/libertarian-types are too liberal and do not belong in the King version of the GOP. But when they win elections, he worries that they will drag the party to the far right.

Pete King does not see himself as the far right. Bizarro-land.

You're correct, there is a 'Sore Loser' law that prevents Cantor from running 3rd party. He is out.

That's bazaaro, because last night Congressman King stated that, "Brat winning pushes the GOP even further right..."

Maybe rep. Peter King needs to realize just how far left he stands on the ideology scale... (way left)
