So excited for all my friends and family 10 minutes north. Wish I still lived in the 7th district so I could have fired Eric Cantor too!

Man, kudos to all you who picked this face out of the crowd. But The Establishment will strike back.

Good riddance to that snake.

Voted Dave Brat, I'm so happy my district followed suit. I was worried because my polling place was so empty, but I'm guessing a lot of folks voted early.

Congrats to David Brat and to the Tea Party for once again showing it's teeth! Even more sweet, Brat only had $50,000 bucks at start doing this! I have supported a strategy where liberty people focus on open seats, and primaries in order to make gains, while bringing CFL/Paul, LP and non-coopted Tea Party grassroots factions together as our base to get these victories. This win is exactly along those lines, with the TP variation that they are willing to organize to 'primary' incumbent despots out of office. We need to be doing a lot more of THIS, to create a more pro-liberty Congress.

"In a development that is going to shake the Republican Establishment to its foundations, Republican House majority leader Eric Cantor has been defeated: with a little more than 60 percent of the vote in, David A. Brat, a professor of economics and a trenchant critic of the National Security Agency’s spying on American citizens is clobbering the pro-NSA Cantor with a little less than 60 percent of the vote so far.

Brat started out with $50,000 of his own money to launch what many viewed as a quixotic campaign against a well-funded and well-entrenched opponent. At the starting bell, Cantor had over a million and a half in his campaign war chest...."

"There will be at least 45 open House seats throughout the country this year; you could call as many as 23 of them virtually safe Republican districts, with another 15 highly likely to be permanently Democratic. Those 23 new Republicans will represent something close to 10 percent of the House GOP majority next year. Who wins these elections could have a dramatic effect on governing...."
