"Breathtakingly condescending."
"Has always been a giant asshole."
"I WISH SOME IDIOT MAN WOULD TRY TO PULL THAT SHIT WITH ME."
"And republicans wonder why their female base is so small."

those Tweets in response to that are very disappointing... if they watched the interview they probably wouldn't feel the same way

From Emily's List press secretary (EMILY's List is a political action committee (PAC) in the United States that aims to help elect pro-choice Democratic female candidates to office.)

Woman anchor asks Rand Paul serious question. Rand Paul: "Shhh" and "Calm down.

Answers:

"WHOA."
"wow"
"Paul/Measles 2016!"
"Kelly_Evans -was really good in this interview, Rand Paul did seem patronizing"
"dickhead."
"Next thing, he'll call her hysterical! WHAT AN ASSHAT!"
"to be fair to Rand he's kind of a condescending ass all the time to everybody"

What you guys fail to realize is that having a hysterical and condescending demeanor is the new normal. And if you're fed up with that fact, you're being "rude." There is no win here.

well, that's that.

Rand needs to shush a man now.

Yup. A black man first. Then a Jew. Then a homosexual. Then a grandmother. Then a.... And then wrap it all up in a bow by doing it to a white christian male.

Anyone and everyone.

It actually plays well if they do a "Black This Out" on him. Slogan: Rand "shushed" them now they are "shushing" him.

I can't wait for the next person to interview Rand.

"Please don't shush me, Senator!"

Most of the people following Eric Bradner probably are left wing partisans that would hate on Rand even if they watched the full video. That said the soundbite (or animated GIF bite) isn't good.

Edit: Just watched the whole video. If I didn't like Rand I wouldn't like the interview. Don't get me wrong, I think the young lady did try to misstate his position and talk over him. But at the end when she tried to apologize and move on the bigger thing to do would have been to accept. I understand him being defensive though. MSNBC is the network of Rachel Madcow.

Good for Rand.

I remember back before the anchors were all trained to interrupt whenever the interviewee started to challenge the conventional wisdom, and/or tired to give a complex subject its due even if it exceeded thirty seconds. These days they have this attitude that if they let a candidate suggest a solution from outside the box and they don't get loud and indignant they won't get their Mike Wallace Asshole Award. And if they let a candidate ever exceed the lowest common denominator's thirty second attention span they'll lose thirty points of market share before the next commercial.

You could get some useful information off the television back then.
