Er, should we have been paying more attention to MA State Rep candidate Leah Cole?

To some extent, you have to understand the politics of it. Leah winning here in MA would be huge for the liberty movement in this state. Huge, I cannot emphasize that enough. So lets say she takes a vote or two we don't like? I'm sure she will one of these days if she wins. But do we want our movement to grow? If so, we absolutely need to support people like Leah.

Trust but verify needs to be our new slogan. You are too heavy on the verify, and perhaps I'm too heavy on the trust. Let's find a happy medium.

You don't get this whole 'sell her' thing, do you?

What does she stand for that we would like? We have been known to elect people then watch their records. Kerry is the only one to lose a subforum so far. If she votes badly she may get sniped at, as long as we care about her. But we need a farm team and everyone knows it and Banning is the only one I've really seen who looks good. Instead of saying 'it would be huge for the liberty movement if she wins...'

WHY would it be huge? What does she think that is like us? There must be something or she wouldn't have donated to Ron's presidential campaign. What did she like about him?

Family has always been important to me, and I thank my parents for teaching me the benefits of hard work and honesty by their example. They sacrificed countless opportunities to raise four children.

My parents, Chuck and Mary, instilled the importance of living within one’s means and being fiscally and morally responsible. My vision of the American Dream is to have the opportunity to work hard, achieve success and reach your goals.

My generation, along with future generations, will be unable to participate in the American Dream unless we get involved in the political process. Our current leaders continually increase our debt and steal our liberties.

When I was 21, while working at Logan Airport, I decided I wanted to be a nurse, as I genuinely enjoy helping others. I attended the Medical Professional Institute in Malden, MA and earned my LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). I currently work at a medical practice in Danvers, MA.

As a young middle-class working taxpayer, and not a seasoned politician, I believe citizens need to get involved to shape the future of our Commonwealth. Every year I see more regulations in the healthcare field that result in higher costs and less care. Combined with the recent proposals to increase taxes, I decided it’s time to get involved and run in the special election for State Representative.

I need your vote on Primary Day on March 5th! I look forward to serving the constituents of Peabody as your State Representative!

Respectfully,
Leah

LEAH COLE IS COMMITTED TO:

• lowering taxes to create jobs for working families.

• increasing local aid for the city of Peabody, to support our schools, public safety and seniors.

• ending benefits to illegal immigrants.

• root out fraud and waste in our broken EBT system.

IF ELECTED, LEAH COLE PLEDGES TO:

• strongly oppose all tax hikes, including the Governor’s proposed income tax hike, and any efforts to tax internet sales.

• not take per diem payments given to legislators to drive to work. The voters of Peabody don’t get paid to drive to work, why should the politicians?

• remain accessible and have great constituent services, like her predecessor Joyce Spiliotis.

so it looks like she wants to give more benefits by cutting expensive regulations, not by raising taxes. And she supported Ron Paul, including donating to his campaign.

Local races are important and we should be involved more but the candidate needs to be able to get themselves as much attention as possible and be appealing to voters... in short, they have to be good candidates who can raise money and campaign. It's not for everyone!

Look at Amash, he went from state rep to congressman in 2 years after being inspired by Ron and running but he's also very good at campaigning and raising money; it was no accident.

Huge because it validates us. Huge because it shows that we can win and we are powerful. I mean, what else am I supposed to say? I have not asked Leah for proof that she is a genuine Ron Paul supporter. She donated to him, she went to LPAC, and the first person she reached out to when she decided to run was Brad Wyatt. People don't run as Ron Paul supporters unless they seriously are, given how much that opens you up to political attack.

Kerry Bentivolio is an enigma, Leah's IQ is about 50 points higher than his.

she just beat the establishment guy in the primary, and has a competitive race in the general election. Everyone should make up their own mind. I like her.

But honestly though, this is about Leah, and it sounds like you all are on board. I truly appreciate that.

With all the males on this forum, I would expect this thread to be far longer.

Hey now... that's sexist! How dare you accuse men of discussing candidates based on looks rather than policies.
