I disagree with Penn on a couple things but I really like how he breaks down complex issues into simple easy to understand arguments. Very bright guy who I agree with 90% of the time.
Penn was trying to frame his argument in a way that would be the most palatable to Obama supporters. As soon as you say "Obama is dumb" or "Obama is evil" the quickly jump to "He's certainly not as dumb as George Bush or Sarah Palin and certainly not as evil as Dick Cheney". This frames the argument in terms of the policy as opposed to in terms of the person.
"Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." That's Bull Shit. Thank you Penn for saying it. The government exists for you and me. Not for themselves and the people who run it.
I like to say; Ask not what you can do for your government, ask what your government can do for you. You want to know what your government can do for you? Read the US Constitution, that's what your government can do for you. Nothing more period. If that's not enough for you then amend the Constitution or go fuck yourself.
Why? Just read some of the youtube comments, a lot of liberals/progressives are saying they agree with Penn's reasoning. This is how we expand libertarian beliefs to Conservatives & Liberals.
