Epic News on the SRLC conference!

Torch,

I can send an email to Dr. Block if you don't want to.

My hope is that CFL/YAL will rent a bar or restaurant and host an additional event with Mike Church, Tom Woods, and Dr. Block (all of whom live in the target area).

Send the email. It would be good for him to hear from a student.

Ok, I just got word that Ron Paul will be speaking at the SRLC on saturday. don't have the time yet. The straw poll is also on saturday.

Also, hot off the press, apparently C4L is going to offer tickets to the event at a reduced cost. I was told $30, but only 99% sure.

I'm gathering a crew here or should i say Krewe.

go get'em i know you will;0 much faith in you!!! use the force wisely;)

Sweet! lol "In other news, we've decided that the SRLC poll will also be irrelevant now since Ron Paul won that one also..."

My guess is that they won't be able to paint this as irrelevant quite as easily as CPAC and, certainly, the candidates themselves will be hard pressed to use that tactic. Palin and Romney will do all they can not to be embarrassed a second time.
This is not gonna be a slam dunk for Paul forces. This is BIG, and we need to pull out all the stops.

I'll probably drive down if the $30 ticket thing is true.

We need a secret hand shake so we know who fellow RPF members are. That or put RPF on our name tags or something.

I agree that we should go all out and not be scared we'll have a blowout that is "unrealistic." The only chance of even winning is to give it all our efforts. Like previous posters have said, other candidates are going to try to win this and we'll be lucky to win even if we go all out.

Hey Torch, I was just looking at hotels and they are a lot cheaper for me if I get one on the north side of Lake Pont. Is it easy to get to French Quarter/convention from there? Using LP Causeway? Or is it way trafficated and a pain?

Hell yes! It is good to see we are moving on this! Can we sticky this post? It would be cool if those who cannot make it donated to C4L for sponsoring attendees. This won't be the last conference we will need to hit.

As one of the unlucky ones who won't be able to attend, I would be more than willing to throw some FRNs at this effort. Hopefully C4L will put this together...and quick.

Oh, and yes, sticky please.

Winning the straw poll is the goal of course . . .

but any old signs ya' got . . . we ain't minding if they get posted on all roads leading into the "Big Easy"
or from the airport to the SRLC convention site in the French Quarter . . .
(lent is over . . . ok for us catholics to do a little post Easter week and spring break celebratin')

Schwarzenegger, Limbaugh, Hannity (and his book signing) will all be there.
We may as well have some visibility. too - inside and outside the convention.

Note that SRLC wil be "sharing the weekend with the French Quarter Festival. It’s large enough to bring in first class musical talent . . .
SRLC 2010 will be adjacent to the festival"

Gee, I wonder if any entertainers and musicians are Ron Paul supporters ?

I just happen to live in New Orleans. (Okay well sometime, my permanent residence is in the 14th District in Texas but my wife is attending Tulane Law School.) Anyhow, I will try and get some contact info for the YAL chapter at Tulane/Loyola. I attended Dr. Paul's speech at Loyola last year and he had a big, energetic following there. Big enough for me to end up in one of the overflow rooms. I think the discount tickets are gonna be critical for getting the college crowd to attend. Of course if ya can't get in the door of the SRLC you won't be disappointed with the French Quarter Fest. Plenty of free music, cheap booze, and lots of fun. http://www.fqfi.org/frenchquarterfest/ Better start looking for a place to stay soon. I am not sure if I will be in town that weekend but if I am I will be in attendance.

Trust me, you'll be able to look around and tell who is a "Ron Paul person" and who is an establishment GOP'er. It'll be blatantly obvious. ;)

Completely agree except for the sticky part. Continuous bumps get much more attention than stickies.

Bump!!!

Will they be the ones wandering around wearing viking helmets and wielding large clubs with the articles of confederation inscribed upon them?

some tubeage of 2009 French Quarter Festival
"The largest free musical festival in Louisiana" says one of the local blues singers.
and "included the World's greatest jazz clarinetist . . ."
