Epic News on the SRLC conference!

I'll probably drive down if the $30 ticket thing is true.

We need a secret hand shake so we know who fellow RPF members are. That or put RPF on our name tags or something.

I agree that we should go all out and not be scared we'll have a blowout that is "unrealistic." The only chance of even winning is to give it all our efforts. Like previous posters have said, other candidates are going to try to win this and we'll be lucky to win even if we go all out.

Hey Torch, I was just looking at hotels and they are a lot cheaper for me if I get one on the north side of Lake Pont. Is it easy to get to French Quarter/convention from there? Using LP Causeway? Or is it way trafficated and a pain?

TB may have more accurate info, but from my pretty accurate recollection, it's a bit of a hike from across LP to the Quarter. Traffic isn't so bad, but the mileage is what it is, so you'll be, what, about an hour drive from the Quarter?

Around Lake Pont there is some camping as well - right on the lake.
the road across is a brutal boring drive . . . nothing but water around.

But the interstate to the west of the Lake is fine, so an hour drive on a regular interstate -
the airport can be approached to from that interstate -

in the city, yeah . . . you may have some crowds to walk into the French Quarter -
but there is no hassles with police - you can walk down streets with open alcohol -
not that we promote that sort of thing.

Gretna needs places to stay. One of the best ways to experience downtown new orleans without dealing with east bank traffic is to stay on the west bank and take the ferry across in gretna.

Would it be beneficial to create something online to send to people?
I found out about ron speaking at loyola when i recieved this in my email:

Trust me, you'll be able to look around and tell who is a "Ron Paul person"
and who is an establishment GOP'er. It'll be blatantly obvious. ;)

Will they be the ones wandering around wearing viking helmets and wielding large clubs
with the articles of confederation inscribed upon them?

I've always thought we all looked good in Founding Father Red, White, and Blue (and still do)
but maybe we should start wearing gold, and including gold paint on some of the home made banners . . .

Ron Paul 2012 - Money Back Guarantee

I've always liked the home made banners (like at 0:43 below)
Dr. Ron Paul Cured My Apathy

YouTube - Ron Paul Was Right ........

And it's my understanding he did very well in the LAGOP during '08, except that they like to lie and cheat.

.

This is going to be the first thing that crosses my mind if Paul doesn't do well in the straw poll. CPAC was so remarkably ungracious that it would be naive to assume that the SLRC organizers won't take steps to be sure they aren't similarly disgraced.

LOL, ok . . . as I wasn't really trying for the "draped in a flag and carrying a cross" imagery - yet.
It might have been better if I had said red, white, OR blue . . .
and also green and pink . . . and GOLD.

Whatever . . . if ya' can avoid it, just try not to be in the picture below on Saturday, April 10, eh ?

There is also a new YAL chapter at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond . . .
along the Interstate 55 that runs into New Orleans just north of Lake Pont.

I have been through there . . .
- much less expensive accomodations possibilities than closer in N.O.
It would be a very easy drive into New Orleans (and the SRLC and Music Festival events).

I don't know if it's been mentioned, but there was a pretty strong base of supporters around the biloxi/hattiesburg area in MS. Joe Tegerdine is running against Gene Taylor there, and I'm sure a lot of his supporters once supported Ron Paul. That's not a terribly far drive.
