Epic News on the SRLC conference!

Making sure this doesn't get lost in the shuffle....there are some tea party groups in there who we probably shouldn't contact, but many libertarian and C4L groups who might be able to contribute manpower.

Any YAL groups close by? YAL might be able to solicit donations from people who CAN'T come in order to buy tickets for student activists. If the tickets turn out to be $30, I would sponsor a student through YAL....

My sister try to attend, but wasn't allowed in because it was at max capacity. she had to go to one of many overflow rooms to watch it on a tv in a classroom. Ron Paul is a rock star in louisiana.

There is also a YAL chapter at Tulane University (which is in New Orleans), but I don't have any contact info for them.

do they have contact info posted on their facebook? if they do, can you post it here so i don't have to sign up for a facebook account?

This is awesome! The establishment might be better prepared this time though, we're gonna need a lot of people there to win the poll!

Huckabee has a lot of support in this state too.
He actually won the primary election.

Thanks for posting the link to the Facebook pages

LSU is right down the road from New Orleans in Baton Rouge of course . . .
They just had a meeting last Wednesday . . . 81 members.

From their Facebook page . . .

As Young Americans for Liberty we believe that...

--Government is the negation of Liberty.
--Voluntary action is the only ethical behavior.
--Respect for the individual's property is fundamental to a peaceful society.
--Violent action is only warranted in defense of one's property.
--The individual owns his/her body and is therefore responsible for his/her actions.
--Protecting one's family and property by bearing arms is a right.
--Undeclared war is unconstitutional.
--Taxation is undesirable and economically harmful.
--Fiat money is a threat to economic Liberty.
--Society is a responsibility of the people, not the government

Tulane is in New Orleans right?
I know James Carville is a "liberal" but I seem to recall him offering an open invite for Dr. Paul to come speak to his classes at Tulane anytime. Just throwing that out there. Is there a YAL chapter at Tulane?

There is, and it's listed on YAL's webpage, but there is no further contact info for their chapter (some chapters have Facebook groups or other websites listed for contact reference).

Maybe the folks that we contact at the ULL and LSU chapters will have connections with the Tulane YAL folks? It would be tremendous to get them on board.

I'm ashamed to say I don't know much about YAL in louisiana, but Tom Rankin told me we have chapters.
any YAL members on the forum?

I'm the President of the YAL chapter at LSU. We have 5-6 members (roughly) who would be interested in going. There are 4 YAL groups in LA, there are also 3-4 in Mississippi that wouldn't have to drive very far. I'd guess both CFL and YAL will be sending out notices about this, much like they did for CPAC.
The only trouble here is lodging, really. That'll be expensive, even for students who can pack in 4 to a room.

Huck's army forum seems to think Huck won't be there. Will Romney?

Romney and Palin seem well planned for this . . .

Thanks for posting these youtubes of RP at Loyola in September.

It was apparently the Economic Club at Loyola University that had invited Ron Paul there.

Thanks for posting back here so quick.

As a suggestion, some less expensive possibilities for lodging and even camping
up just across the border in Miss. (Brittney Spears old stomping ground I guess).

So this could be a day event for that Saturday, 4.10.10, and would be a couple hours drive into the city . . .
well, maybe for some anyway?
