Elon Musk has begun the process of rebranding Twitter. Musk tweeted late on Saturday night, revealing that the well-known bird logo and the name "Twitter" will soon be replaced.

Instead, the company will be referred to as "X." True to Musk's word, X.com now redirects to Twitter, and it appears the appropriate migrations and redesigns are well underway.

"And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds," he tweeted. In a Twitter space session later, he announced that the Twitter logo would be altered on Sunday. He expressed regret, stating, "It should have been done a long time ago, sorry it took so long."

Musk's pinned tweet is currently a video of what appears to be a stand-in logo that was originally designed for a now-defunct company called X Pod.

Later on Saturday, he apparently communicated the change to the employees via email.

Zoe Schiffer, a tech journalist posting on Twitter-knockoff Threads, said Musk sent an email to staff stating that the company would be renamed as "X," and emphasized that this would be the final email sent from a Twitter email address.

A tweet will soon be referred to as an X, Musk said.

In a late-night Twitter space, Musk quipped that he would be cutting the Twitter logo from its SF HQ with a blowtorch.

^^^^^^^
Who could have possibly predicted such a bold move by the Muskmeister? Baffling! Edge of seat stuff here....

I dunno what his goal is, merge all the companies, but the Twitter logo was a good one.
