"Satan has his sights on the United States of America!" Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum has declared.

"Satan is attacking the great institutions of America, using those great vices of pride, vanity, and sensuality as the root to attack all of the strong plants that has so deeply rooted in the American tradition."

This is someone who obviously has no understanding of what Satan represents.

Satan represents the opposite or interference with natural law. That each person has their own free will and should use it as they see fit, and that anyone who would attempt to violate another's free will is doing the work of Satan. Mr. Santorum, if you wish to dictate to Americans what behavior you approve of and what behavior you want abolished, you are doing Satan's work. If you wish to take the fruits of someone's labor to create a society that fits your model (rather than the natural model of each individual making their own choices, then you are doing Satan's work.

(Different interpretation than CaptUSA's. I hope people don't get the wrong idea. Satan can be interpreted many ways, including the rejection of totalitarianism.)

If the "other" (dissident) Satan (Iblis from Islamic folklore) has his sights set on the White House, I welcome it! We need someone like Ron Paul who will fight for the people instead of the authority!

To people who have no idea why I'm praising the "other" interpretation of Satan, is because Iblis (Satan) in Islam is interpreted as a Djinn who disobeyed God's orders to bow to Adam. As a result, he was challenged by god to defect God's descendants using the Apple of Knowledge.

This means Iblis/Satan played a critical role in allowing intellectualism and individuality, and not just the unquestioned words of god.

The theory is Santorum is making outrageous statements in order to get the free media coverage; but each day he exposes himself as someone totally off the wall, filled with hate and anger to all who do not share his views.

Obama would absolutely smoke Santorum if this country is so unfortunate and stupid to have those two as our choices. Some of Santorum's comments are up there with the "Lunartic" Gingrich.

He'd be one of the first guys to accuse RP of being an appeaser - doing the whole McCain argument of "that sir is how Hitler came to power".

So, if Satan is trying to take over America, why is Santorum so committed to this obvious appeasement policy of violently sending as many non-Christians as possible directly to Hell?
